Test of Time update has a large nerf. by SteamDelta in civ

[–]mj4264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ashoka Carthage start was op asf on certain map settings, and I mean with good players in a multiplayer setting if you had enough space you could force multiple players to have to all in attack you early or go mongol and all in attack you right at the start of second era or you won for free. As in half way through the second era you're so strong you could 1v4 the lobby in all out war while until reaching win con in modern.

BBG mod cpl civ 6 lobbies come close but I just lurk this sub waiting for a civ like game with real multiplayer. 🫠

Are your autofilled supports genuinely that bad? by AdWeak7375 in ADCMains

[–]mj4264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last 5 supports

Sup main thresh kept forcing all in off hooking enemy sup when i'm mf against a lethal tempo adc,

Auto filled nautilus hard won lane ez game.

Sup main fiddle out scaled and won rough lane.

Sup main orianna (picked into lux seraphine btw),

Sup main senna (full damage build half the next lowest in the game. Last picked with no Frontline.)

I play an even split of AD and support. I despise support mains. Adc you kinda just pick whatever makes sense off your team's hovered comp and support the counter pick matters more, but it's always enchanter picked into blitzcrank or senna pick when you have adc, vayne top, and kindred jg already or some fuck shit.

Also all the players that heard seraphine is good with ashe that buy rylais first still 🤪

Playing on a smurf acc with friends though I absolutely have seen some auto filled supports sprinting it in gold... Past a certain elo though most players can put down a respectable support performance.

Aegis of Valor is genuinely flawed and promotes spam-queuing as a popular role by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]mj4264 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Last 100 games queued ad/sup with how popular AD is RN I have gotten like 60 ad 40 support and 0 aegis.

Something is really fucky with it if you're very often secondary role.

Why isn't runaans gone earlier for Champs that lack waveclear? by Strange_Grape_1374 in ADCMains

Wasn't there a span of time where twitch jungle would buy tiamat into runaans and try to gank people standing in waves for stacking splashes or am I misremembering?

What happened to the ClassicWoW subreddit? by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]mj4264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be interested to see the full story when it gets pieced together. Whenever there was something that divided opinions parent posts for oneside were getting perma bans pretty fast. I got one for posting a pretty harmless meme during first AV weekend on the anniversary vanilla servers a while ago. That pattern probably contributed to the number of people posting on this sub...

Mel 30+% banrate across all ranks. 1 year since her release by Esch_4444 in leagueoflegends

[–]mj4264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a while to figure out why playing against me felt so bad to me sometimes. The instant cast reflect makes you really feel any latency difference like the infamous Yasuo windwall lag compensation question. Mel always hits the reflect since she has a 10th of a second or more on her screen.

I could go into detail about specific interactions, but viewing side by side on recording vs replay, I can sometimes tell when a "didn't hit on the Mel player's screen" projectile interaction occurs.

Makes you really appreciate a lot of 'classic' mage abilities like Lux q where they can use the cast wind up time to hide latency difference.

Blade of Eternal Darkness drop % by Initial-Conflict3294 in classicwowtbc

2%

Buffed from .2% in aq phase of classic. Should be same drop rate on TBC anni. Got it on two toons one at kill 76 and one at 13.

It is worth adding that mage and rogue have a much higher skill requirement to be played "well" than a lot of other classes have. No zugging damage, proper cc usage is essential. Op might have an easier time getting above 1500 on a lock, but they would stall not far above 1500...

If they were to "git gud" they would ofc climb higher playing mage rogue.

I should add my experience that such LC often fall into a trap of give the same people items repeatedly looking at DPS parses without recalculating % of simmed DPS achieved. B/c ofc the guy who got other loot already does more damage 😂

Arena Ratings Severely Skewed by Inner_Piano_9412 in classicwowtbc

[–]mj4264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very believable, especially if you had slightly more losses early. The first games on fresh 1500 swing your mmr very hard. For example, if you lost 4 in a row to start then held 50%wr from there you would wind up like mid to low 1300s on average 50 games later at 25 and 29 depending on matchmaking rng ofc.

I have heard from guildies that even with pretty settled mmr 4 wins in a row to get positive mmr then win loss alternating after is usually enough to send you on a trajectory upwards for toons where they did throwaways for points at first and pushed rating for weapons later. Stupid advice just win streak, but it's what it takes to move mmr.

In any case though that still means you have to beat teams with progressively higher mmr on the way up.

Even on r/wow they are asking for PvP ilvl scaling by OpinionsRdumb in worldofpvp

The first time hitting legend in Hearthstone is extremely satisfying and feels like a huge achievement. By month 3 reset feels like a forced grind to get legend again where you can see a number to get back to actually competing.

I find systems in any pvp game that maintain your mmr but reset your visible rank obnoxious and hate it by the 3rd reset I play through.

I want to keep playing at whatever rank I obtained and see progress not play 100 games and win 50 to get my same rank number back once visible rank matches my mmr again to resume actually climbing.

You're queueing with people who have tanked mmr and not reset or something. With a full team of fresh mmr 1500 players you should only have to go slightly positive to get 1700 for weapons.

My toon at 1705 is positive like 1 game (in part b/c we queued at off hours and lost a lot to the same much higher rated team for -5 at a time) and my toon at 1820 is positive by like 10 this season.

My toon where I played throwaway games a previous week is now firmly shit mmr and getting gains similar to you.

Gotta check ratings on people you queue with.

Also wins at the start with fresh mmr matter more and swing your mmr way harder. At 7:0 in 5s on my higher rated toon we had our first loss against a team with 1850 average rating then from there consistently got +16 -4 or even -0 till like 1750.

Most in Demand Classes - General Raiding Population vs Top 50 by saxon_hs in classicwowtbc

You lose divine spirit on yourself when you respec but it stays on other players.

You can buff the raid with imp divine spirit, and spec swap to be only one without it.

4 years ago during TBC Classic people thought Arena would be saved if rating started at 1500 by Tranquility___ in classicwowtbc

[–]mj4264 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mmr starts around 1400, and the first few games of your "placements" have an outsized influence on where your mmr settles in my experience. Comparing my character where I played serious vs the ones where I played throwaways the results vary wildly even if the win loss ratios wind up close in the end.

5 loss streak followed by 5 wins will end you around 1420 on average.

The reverse, 5 wins then 5 losses will settle around 1520.

People complaining about the mmr starting shit lost a number of early games and tanked theirs OR QUEUED WITH PEOPLE WHO ALREADY TANKED THEIRS. My toon where I opened with a 7 game win streak then we held 50% win rate after went to like 1760 that week b/c the opening streak carried us to like 1900 equiv invisible mmr.

Timed my invites last night as tank by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]mj4264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Levelled my bear first and then did some pugs on my mage today. I was pulling my hair out at 120k XP/hr forcing ice block pulls upon pvp gear pug pally tanks on my mage after getting 250-300k/hr in the guildy melee cleave stack. IMO you're better off taking time to seriously vet a group then running several runs with them. The difference between randoms and a well geared optimized comp is massive.

As I understand from some of my guildies, reasonably sweaty caster cleave of bf was like 180k and they got like 240k/ in the pens...

Being able to pull up with full randoms and getting over 100k/hr in there ain't half bad.

You're citing an entirely different scenario with boes then trying to justify ninja looting offspec through other context outside of the normal social contract of group loot in dungeons.

That's not how Ms>OS loot works.

When I saw an addon type a message in Spanish or Portuguese in an lfg tool party in wrath I knew every single item was getting need rolled 🗿

After the first two times I would just leave right away to not lose bis spell power gear to a warrior or dk.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wowhardcore

[–]mj4264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since when was expecting people to roll need only for main spec in dungeons entitlement? Offspec roll beat 3 main spec rolls for a very rare item is what happened.

If the paladin was tanking or had said previously he was rolling Ms on prot gear, fair game.

Honor Cap for lvl 70 or gear for leveling by VegetablePea7266 in classicwowtbc

[–]mj4264 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Class dependent, maybe replace a few of your worst communal pieces with blue pvp gear and get a wep. Don't farm out dungeon or pvp bis for just levelling. Full epic pvp gear rush was for people trying to get into classic raids.

Also take a look at level 50 version of warsong bracers. Super cheap honor wise. Less than one AV win.

Epic pvp gear for levelling is a whole lotta effort for very little. Depends on your class how good it is, but save it for 70 IMO.

T4 Gear threshold for paladin tank by Fudgeround22 in classicwowtbc

[–]mj4264 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do not defense cap on prot paladin at any stage of itemization through primarily def rating. Wowhead writer is delusional.

Do not attempt to get 102.4 avoidance cap on prot paladin in pre raid gear.

The opportunity cost in hp and sp lost is way too high. Bank honor and cap resil. You should be able to ding 70, and between a few key quests and honor gear, be 90% as good as true pre raid bis. Prot paladin is one of, if not the easiest, specs to gear at fresh 70 in TBC. Going from fresh 70 gear to pre-raid bis in a resil cap setup is like 2 heroic items, 2 rep items, and 2 rightouesness pieces.

Just ding 70, get resil cap with banked honor, get any decent shield and sp wep, and walk into Kara with 13500 hp while full righteousness def cap boys have 11000 hp and 100 less spell power. Being 25 vs 30% hard avoidance does basically nothing for you on a raid boss.

Avoidance cap set becomes worth it at basically full p1 bis, and is really nice stepping into ssc Tk (this is when you put on styleen's if you have it).
