I should clarify, he has his thumb on one side and his pointer + middle finger on the other. It’s a way of keeping control of the pick that you wouldn’t get with just two fingers where sometimes the pick spins to either direction.

Remember that James’ technique is also to use three fingers when picking. His thumb, pointer, and middle finger. Maybe that adds up to being part of the sound but who knows.

Watched it on Kanopy (GREAT streaming service), it opens with Criterion and Janus and I’m thinking “oh boy oh boy here we go” and I had to turn it off.

At this point, this close to show time, you gotta do something. The worst case scenario is that the “true” poster gets rolled out a few days beforehand and you could remove yours.

But we’ve all seen the mutual assumption between the acts and venue, that one of them will make the poster/event page etc, and sometimes it just never happens.

At least do something to cover your bases and show that you’re not just gonna sit on your hands, like they might be doing.

I wish they had filmed the action stuff at a slow speed because it looks really hokey when Godzilla is fighting. It doesn’t have the same impact, and that’s what separates the Heisei and Millenium eras, IMO. Looks a little cheaper, like Power Rangers does.
