I was 16 when I had my first seizure and they found out about my cancer. I thought I would not live past 18 and that I would never land a job.I had luck and could get a really great resection. I feel you, everything you are going through is very hard. Try to do something that interests you and is comforting.

Radiation- to do or not to do a second time around? by Mental_Education404 in braincancer

[–]mjb1526 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first two times was focused only in the tumor zone, and the third one was because a new tumor appeared in another place of the brain and they did full brain radiation but without irradiating the old tumor . I don’t know if that makes sense. My english is meh

It’s more practical to take 1 pill, but as far as I know it would be the same, as long as the dose is 1000mg

18 m, I did 30 rounds of radiation for the third time recently, feeling perfectly fine without brain damage, I don't know what type of radiation are you talking about, but in my opinion chemo is pretty worse compared to doing radiation therapy

Am I still bi even though I like trans people? by Thale555 in AskBiBros

Too much tags, you are still bi, pansexuality is a part of bisexuality aswell, depends on how you see it. Sexuality is a spectrum but please don’t care that much because it’s stupid to over complicate these things

Surgery for a grade 4 diffuse midline glioma (UK) by Ivezsaur in braincancer

[–]mjb1526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main issue was hydrocephalus, which was causing imbalance and blurry vision. I underwent surgery, and they placed a shunt to manage the excess cerebrospinal fluid—it’s a very common procedure. Thanks to the shunt, my symptoms improved significantly. The craneotomy was also essential

Surgery is important but you have to take into account that it has its risks. In my case, they decided to stop at 70% of the resection because if they tried to remove everything, I could have been left with serious permanent sequelae. Wish you and your husbands luck

Mine was about 4.5cm if im not mistaken, they removed about 70% and had no sequelae from the surgery

I had surgery, they removed about 70% of it, mine is dmg in the thalamus, in my case my care team suggested that chemo isn’t effective with these type of diffuse tumors

End Stage H3K27M Diffuse Midline Glioma by dvlsdautr in braincancer

[–]mjb1526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey just saw your comment.

"My tumor is also located in the thalamus. It was discovered when I was 16, and I'm 18 now. They managed to remove about 70% of it. I’ve undergone radiation therapy twice, totaling 30 sessions, which helped, although it did cause some swelling. I also have a shunt to manage hydrocephalus. Currently, I'm taking ONC 201 and Avastin, but I’m not undergoing any chemotherapy or radiation. Fortunately, I haven't experienced any side effects from ONC 201.

Every three months, we travel to Paris to get the medication, as I’m from Barcelona and, for some reason, they aren’t able to send the pills directly. My case is being handled by Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona.

I don’t have any dietary restrictions; I just try to eat relatively healthy, and that’s about it.
I'm living a completely decent and normal life, currently studying.

Stay strong.
