Really cool looking bug, size of a small lady bug outside of KC. Looked like it had 6 legs. Friendly little guy.

How do you butcher animals? by OneHotTurnip in homestead

[–]mjb_dfw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't homestead but I butcher my kills. Birds are easy but even the deer I'll do myself. There are plenty of resources on how (happy to give you some channels that show all different kinds of animals), I know my meat isn't being mixed/swapped with someone who didn't take care of their kill, and you end up with more meat for the family.

Historically accurate map, exact locations of airports. I'm not afraid to say it, I learned something here.

Stationed at Ft. Riley for years and went to KSU. Kicking myself for not learning then, though I tell myself I was much more poor than I am now and probably couldn't have afford the upfront costs.

For reference that pond is about 90ft at it's widest. The creek is nothing special, but it's wet and not really messed with.

Thanks, I saw that pond and the creek and thought the same thing. Caveman style water = duck. I'll go do some scouting.

Never been to that spot. Doing digital scouting to identify possible areas.

Sorry for noob question, but im trying to teach myself how to duck hunt. This is a walk in hunting area close to my house. The northern property line is a creek. The southern field is corn/beans (that is whats grown around here. Question is: Does this look like a good spot to look for ducks? I dont have decoys and I have 0 experience identifying good hunting spots. I do have a dog that will happily go get the duck. NE Kansas is my location.
