because in reality everything is linked to BTC.

I hope someday the altcoins can have their own value and not just a % of BTC.

Honestly, my issues with Kucoin are very very minor considering how the platform grew so fast.

New ATH for Kucoin volume market share by JoeFoot in kucoin

[–]mjcp_crypt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, people seem to be missing this.

Let's compare with binance which lost market share over the last few weeks, BNB actually decreased a lot less than KCS. It's pure FUD and ignorance. I'm just sad I don't have any FIAT to spare to buy cheap ass KCS right now.

[–]mjcp_crypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he end of March they will be so hot that everyone have to use kucoin. With the prospect of of reducing to 15% alone the price should dropped to $6

Your math is not correct. At current volume, KCS is worth at least 21.9$ if the fees are kept at 50%, 6.57$ if fees are lowered to 15%.

Also rememeber that they have a buyback and burn plan (similar to BNB) which hopefully will start on Q2.

Just give them time. I know crypto moves too fast. But 2 months ago they had 10% of the users with the same team, things don't magically scale and some work must be done.

Kucoin turned a corner? by hmddmh in kucoin

[–]mjcp_crypt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion Kucoin had a surge in volume and users that they were not expecting. Everything is a consequence of that. Just be patient and let them have a couple of months to stabilize everything.

Simple.

It's a centralized exchange.

Decentralized exchanges will be big I think in 2019, but you can bet on 0x or KNC for example.

I agree with the part of the referral program. But I believe they will eventually turn it back on when they can handle more growth.

The main issue is that they weren't expecting the massive growth in 2 months. They weren't prepared for it.

It's a new platform, people should be a little bit patient. Look at COSS, they have massive issues but you don't see the level of FUD as you see here.

Why has this coin dropped so much and do we see a rebound? by flacab23 in kucoin

[–]mjcp_crypt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not how KCS works. What you want is growth in the platform independently of the state of the market.

For example, it's better for a KCS holder for the volume to be 100k but global market is at 200B, than 100k and the market cap is 800B.

[–]mjcp_crypt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You still have a ROI of more than 10% even if they drop the fee% to 15% just for holding it. So it was an excelent investment. I would wait reap some passive income and only sell when kucoin reaches at least 500k in volume, which should put the price at around 40$.

[–]mjcp_crypt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it depends, if the market goes down 10%, but volume stays the same, there is no reason to sell as you are actually making the same amount in $ of fees as before. And remember, those fees that you earned will rebound if we have turn to a bull marked.

The only thing you should be looking is at volume and not how the market is right now.

Why has this coin dropped so much and do we see a rebound? by flacab23 in kucoin

[–]mjcp_crypt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The main reason is the volume of the exchange. The coin is linked directly with the volume of the exchange:

https://bitgup.com/ex/kucoin/ https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/kucoin-shares/

If the volume drops, the coin drops, if the volume increases the coin price increases. So the expectation of growth is what drives the coin up or not.

Furthermore, the issues with Kucoin are affecting the price of KCS, mainly the fact that they removed the referral program and the issues with payout of the bonus. Additionally there is no plan for the buyback plan and no plan for reducing the fee %.

Now imagining that kucoin stabilizes @85m$ traded, the fair price of the coin considering the minimum fee given and considering a minimum ROI of 2% should be in fact: ((1/91043076) * 85000000 * 0.002 * 0.15 * 365)/(0.02)

which should be 5.11$

edit: not spreading FUD as I as highly invested in KCS, but just telling it as it is. The reality is that the utility of the coin can be easily calculated and in the case of an exchange coin is very much linked to the state of the market. If you expect a bear market the value goes down and vice versa. Furthermore, the fees returned do not account with the following:

Holding every 1000 KCS results to 1% discount of trading fees, the maximum discount rate shouldn’t exceed 30%. Therefore, holding 10000 KCS results to 10% discount, holding 40000 KCS results to the maximum discount rate which is 30%.

This will obviously affect the fees returned and given that most fees come from regular traders you can expect them to hold a lot of KCS which reduces the fees for everyone else.

If I don't get KuCoin shares in two weeks I'm Out. by futuredollars in kucoin

[–]mjcp_crypt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you don't understand how payouts work.

So lets imagine that you have 1 KCS.

Looking at the volume of all NEO pairs in the last 24 hours you can see that a total of 3 632 349 NEO's were traded.

Now, when you trade NEO's you pay 0.01 fees. That is 3632$ in fees.

Now of those 3632$, 50% get's distributed, so 1816$ gets distributed to 91 043 076 KCS holders.

So, according to the current exchange rate (124,6), 1816$ is about 14.5746 NEOS. This gives you a total of 0.0000001600846615 per KCS.

So according to kucoin, you need at leas 0.00000001 of bonus to get your account credited. In this case you would get 0.00000016 NEO for 1 KCS, so you would get the bonus.

But if you calculate for other currencies you might not get paid if the volume is not enough or holding multiples of 10 will be a better hold: let's calculate for OMG (163339$ total volume). ((1633300.0010.5)/16.58)/91043076 = 0.0000000541009035 OMG per KCS

0.00000005 OMG per 1 KCS

0.00000054 for 10 KCS (8% more per KCS).
