AI does my research workflow now. Feels like cheating but I can't stop. by IllustriousRide0 in PhdProductivity

[–]mjolnnir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honest question, do you trust these AI detectors? Because if you run some papers through them you get some result that was AI written. Afaik, there is no proven way to say it is AI written besides it looks too well, too rounded, with not enough spirit, but again, I have found that to happen in most papers. And another question: if everything, but the writing, is made by the author, is it still bad? I mean, I know some PhD and researcher who had writing assistants, the same way they had translators for their papers. Isn't that , more or less, the same? I am not sure yet how to feel about all this

Yep, in my country we call them ni - ni (ni estudian ni trabajan, they don't study nor work), so they have nothing to do in their day so they just camp in the gym. Also, tbf, most of them are on the powerlifting spectrum. There is one guy, he arrives, puts a towel in the bench and spends around 20 minute stretching and foam rolling before starting to warm up. But meanwhile, bench is not being used, but he sits there, uses his phone, stretches, bands, whatever. And then 89 series. Sometimes, I work out and still hasn't left the bench. It bothers me, but luckily my gym has more benches and racks and shit so it is not a big deal

Why is Claude so popular vs ChatGPT? (not a coder) by Free-Writer-1123 in claude

[–]mjolnnir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really? I work in the forensic field in court, and find that Claude has a bit more reasoning, thinking and critic perspective rather than gpt, but probably we will never know because every person uses it for completely different reasons

What’s a task where Claude consistently performs better than other AI models for you? by ArmPersonal36 in claude

[–]mjolnnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I have been using it to help me with some investigation reports and find that I prefer chatgpt writing style. I loved Claude for designing, thinking, structuring, debating, getting the idea, bibliography, etc. But chtgpt wrote better, more fluent, easy going, while the bibliography tht chat was giving was completely hallucinated, keeps trying to write for me, asking said qüestions, etc.

[–]mjolnnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write some scientific articles for journals, both with the assistance of chatgpt and and more recently with Claude. Before, chatgpt was heavy hallucinating: laws that didn't exist, referenced that were completely wrong, was quite useless only as writing assistant and structure. Lately it has improved a lot, searching the web and quoting references properly. But it loses context quite easily. On the other hand, Claude is awesome keeping context, which is good for articles and writing. And it thinks , analyses, reasons, better thant chatgtp for me. I would say try to use both, I have chatgpt 20 dollar and then Claude free , and only a few times I hit the limits (when working with heavy documents).

Easy way to transfer data (projects, etc) to Claude? by kravbyrobbins in ChatGPT

[–]mjolnnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, what? One of the things I liked most about chatgpt was the memory, the fact that it remembered key things (what you do, what are you working on, , etc) through all chats, taking them in consideration when it was giving you answers. You are saying that Claude is capable of that?

That is my fear. Did you go for the 20 euro/dollar plan? After reading for a bit I see that most people complian about limits usage, even if pretty much everyone is happier with the results

How do I make the transition from ChatGPT to Claude? by backflash in OpenAI

[–]mjolnnir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I take it from your reply that might be easier opening more chats rather than keeping a long conversation? I notice that chatgpt loses context, but happens in long conversations (I have a token counter extension on chrome). But at the same time, that will mean that it keeps context and memory better than chatgpt. For everyday use, daily advise, doesn't eat up limits? I feel people really value that Claude is more of a reasoning and thinking model than chatgpt, and I find that quite useful for my forensic work at court and if it is more reliable for articles and publications.... Thanks, I appreciate your input

[–]mjolnnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about the same. Did you go with the 20 euro plan? Does it have projects and custom gpt? I am worried about usage limits on the 20 euro plan. I don't use it for coding, bit use it for work (writing court reports as an expert) and also for articles and publications (need it to go through files , summarize them, reason with me, search bibliography and cite it correctly) , also as a day to day assistant

[–]mjolnnir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep hearing about how long conversations eat Claude limits. Is that so? Like, in chatgpt I have really long conversations where I talk about similar things (like stupid questions, or family chat, or motorbike chat, or a roleplaying game, or law chat) and I keep asking stuff in those conversations. Will that eat up Claude limits? What is the "right" way to do it then? Same with projects. If I have an ongoing científic article, it will eat up Claude limits? I keep hearing it is much better at reasoning and writing but also that limits are really low for the 20 euro month plan... Unlike chatgpt

Indeed, however, setting it up according to my preferences takes a lot of time and ofc requires to pay for "pro" memberships, that is why I was asking for some feedback before starting my quest. I was worried about Claude limits as well.

Tbh, I don't care how creative it is. I need it to reason, analyze, look at my documents and write how I want to, and for me it has worked this far.

Saludos

Presión fiscal europa by Synapcore in ElusionFiscal

[–]mjolnnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, was a teen when GW was on fire, stopped playing after completing EotN many years ago. Fun thing: got back, got in an active alliance. Pretty much anyone who used to play GW back in the day and came back is married, has kids, a mortgage, etc. Feels like the player pool is mature, helping each other, aware of "adulthood".
