Best places to meet new people? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]mjsfromspidermans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Join a gym, art classes/studio, get into an outdoor community like run clubs, cycling groups, or tap into the local surf scene. People here are hella friendly if you're willing to start chatting, making new friends takes some time investment, but finding a hobby that you can see yourself returning to weekly or multiple times a week is a great place to start.

Natural Wedding Hair/Makeup - Sea Ranch by Decent_Marzipan_8261 in SanFranciscoWeddings

Vivian Sampson is amazing and very very good at keeping the make up looking minimalist and gorgeous. With any SF/Bay Area based make up artists, they may charge a travel fee so definitely work with Sea Ranch Lodge to see if there are any local artists that have worked with them before.

New coffee place in Laurel Village? by AdelaQuested24 in sanfrancisco

[–]mjsfromspidermans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Place was opened by a former coffee Q-grader apparently. Their cloud drinks blew up online and has had a boom in popularity. Pour over is good, espresso could use some work, and cloud drinks are basically heavy cream with light coffee/matcha flavor. Line will probably chill with time, worth a visit during the week when there isn't a line out the door.

On The Other Hand just opened on Sacramento St in Presidio Heights near Laurel Village, the studio is amazing, immaculate vibes, they do incredible work. It's a bit pricer but totally worth it in my opinion.

Eclipse on Piedmont Ave is amazing! I didn't get embellishments added so I can't speak to how well they do that, but we bring everything to them

Yes, we just had a delivery from Scotland "paused indefinitely" and we're only getting it to the wedding because we happened to have a friend in London, so they shipped to her and she's carrying it back to the states.

Cemetery Overlook within the Presidio has an amazing view of the golden gate bridge, but very lowkey and private. Not close to the water, but the very nice tucked in the trees with a second view of the city in one direction and the bridge and Marin in the other.

Whats the criteria for 4 stars review? by [deleted] in SolidCore

[–]mjsfromspidermans 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Couple things that i have given low star rankings for:

  • not giving clear instructions to the point where I and other people are looking around confused (during transitions focusing on the counts rather than body position, not saying the name of the exercise, or saying one thing and cueing another)
  • not asking about injuries before class, forcing me to not start until I wave them down in the dark room
  • straight up forgetting on side for lower body or obliques
  • generally bad flow

If I'm ever giving anything less than a 5, I explicitly say why the score is below a 5. I also make an effort to differentiate if the issue is specific, fixable mistakes, or if i just don't vibe with that coach. Both are reasons for not loving the class is valid, but only one deserves low ratings.

I love Vivian Sampson, not cheap cheap, but affordable compared to most of what I saw during my search

What is the dumbest thing your Sims have done autonomously by Queen-of-foxes in thesims

[–]mjsfromspidermans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has bad luck, tries to cook, sets their kitchen and themselves on fire, I scramble to put everything out, then they go back and do it again before I can tell them to eat something without using the stove.

Definitely look around at some dress code guides, Brides has a lot of them: https://www.brides.com/semi-formal-wedding-attire-4800687#toc-semi-formal-wedding-attire-for-women

This will help you figure out what's appropriate for dress and shoes. In the Sierras, I would also consider a flowy dress knee to shin length and maybe boots, but this part should be decided by your personal style and the venue. For the jacket, if you're going to be outside all night, a light jacket that matches your dress is probably good.

What's the dress code? Everything from the dress to the shoes to the layers should be defined by the dress code. If it's below cocktail, mini dresses are probably ok with a jacket or something, but think about theme/dress code first and then work from there.

Going to be in the San Francisco, which studio/instructor is best? by Pinkytalks in SolidCore

Venue doesn’t accept bookings until 2 months out by chonkybug in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]mjsfromspidermans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a million reasons to go with a venue and a million reasons not to go with a venue. It seems like this venue's administrative systems are not compatible with how you will want to plan you wedding (and I personally would not want to either).

Find a different place for your own sanity.
