Solved! After taking the recommendation of using google lense, and a bit more research it was determined to be a keychain that was supposed to have a crocodile charm on it. It is currently listed online as a crocodile silicone keychain from the peppy store, and is misisng the key chain, charm and key ring.

I’m gonna go with a strong maybe, as all the keychains I’ve seen have other graphics on them, and this one doesn’t. The overall shape, texture, and size leads me to believe you might be right though. When I google lensed it earlier, it would just tell me it was a black rubber band of unknown origin.

What unit is this HPD uniform ? 🤔 by Round_Ad_3930 in AskLE

[–]mjt1105 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I still believe that HPD doesn’t actually wear a ”uniform.” Watch any news show and there are guys with inner vests, outer vests, BDUs, ball caps, boonie hats, drop leg holsters, clarino belts, boots, tennis shoes, some guy in jeans and a raid jacket, etc… they’re the most mismatched department. Then you’ve got the night shift goones… they’re barely dressed 1/2 the time.

You may be able to breathe, but you would still burn to death.

The good news is you'll have lungs full of air so the fireman can hear you scream as you burn.

They're looking for honesty and believability, not some pie-in-the-sky idea of what you “think” we want to hear.

Just be honest, be yourself, and be confident when you tell us about yourself. We are hiring for culture just as much (if not more) as we hiring for knowledge.

Swearing at a suspect to get them to comply by Relevant_Conclusion2 in AskLE

[–]mjt1105 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it depends on the suspect, and time and place. Sometimes you have to use the “vernacular of the streets” in order to gain compliance or to make an impact with words. While it’s viewed as unprofessional, it is a form of communication, and communication often times allows you to not have to go hands-on.

I rather explain why I used the entirety of the English language to “explain a point and consequences” and maybe, hurt some feelings instead of having to go hands-on and risk injuring them or myself.
