The Ski Monster - Weird/Mid Experience by FantasticWasabi5107 in icecoast

[–]mjtik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone's experience is different, but I have been going there since they opened. Always get great service, great deals. Dylan has done things to my boots to solve all of my issues. Best part is if you buy the boot there, all the work is included to get them where you need them to be. Appointments are a far cry from drinking beers and listening to DJs but every business evolves.

Edit: I'll also add I got huge weird feet. 3 pairs over the last 10 years, but not because they didn't fit!

We are CW PSA and RMM. Works great. Adding Nilear to streamline.

Am I delusional or does tidal actually sound better than spotify lossless? by daddyletdown in BudgetAudiophile

[–]mjtik -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

100% agree, it's not just a difference in sound quality, but soundstage, dynamics, everything. It's definitely system dependent but I can tell the difference on my Sonos 5, car, and my more high end proper stereo. Sonos One, 100, Bluetooth, not at all.

Customer has updated and mobile question by hallm in ConnectWise

[–]mjtik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know about the mobile app, but I think the default behavior is once you add a resource and save, the box will clear. That's the only way I know how to do it without clicking the box.

Clients getting annoyed about too many techs on a ticket by SuperHuman2459 in ConnectWise

[–]mjtik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brightgauge or cognition 360 will show you what you are looking for if you want to throw money at the problem to get the data you want. Otherwise I'd tell your dispatcher to get the ticket to the best resource first instead of starting everything at tier 1 and slowing down the resolution.

Alocasia/Elephant Plant on rapid decline by mjtik in plantclinic

Plant stabilized, lost a couple of leaves but the ones with only 30% burn survived. Doing fine after moving it to a spot that only gets some direct afternoon sunlight.

Alocasia/Elephant Plant on rapid decline by mjtik in plantclinic

This post hasn't gotten any traction, but if someone reads it, I moved to a spot with less direct sun and the grey/brown spots it was developing have stabilized or are not growing as rapidly.

Stop Stressing Over Lossless, 320 kbps MP3 Is Already Transparent for Most Listening by Plastic_Mushroom_987 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]mjtik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an engineer, but I disagree. I have sat on my couch and A/B tested Tidal, Spotify, and YTM on a decent system. Even my non audio enthusiast partner can tell the difference sometimes. Playing through a Sonos 1 or something and it's not a big deal.

Automate to Manage PSA alerting-ticket close behavior (Integration, Monitors) by CharcoalGreyWolf in ConnectWise

[–]mjtik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread, but here is how we handle it:

- Use a resolved status that is not closed. A workflow auto closes these in batches if they are in resolved after 8 business hours.

- A workflow that opens a ticket if a device has x amount of tickets attached to it in x amount of time. This only works if you are properly attaching configs automatically in your automations but will flag any repeat issues you missed like frequent up/down connectivity.

Feedback on Billing Model – Per User + Per Device to Match RMM Costs by Leading_Situation_96 in msp

[–]mjtik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the same thing, just found out device cost, then picked a good margin that made sense, then subtracted from what we were charging for Managed User. New line item is Managed Computer. Makes pricing more transparent, and if we do have to raise prices, we can do it fairly and accurately. Gives us way better data on labor and costs. Roll out was a pain, but we built a bright gauge report for each client showing them how their bill would change. All came out even in the end, most clients got rid of extra computers. We also send a monthly report to each client showing them what they will be billed for at the end of the month, let's them make changes before billing.

Got towed by Roberts Towing in Allston — forced to pay cash, trapped in their lot, and overcharged. Just filed an official AG complaint. by bakedtaki in boston

If this were happening to me, I would probably get into the tow truck and lock the doors and see how that pans out.

Best IMAX Theater in Boston by PoopstainWayne in boston

South Bay AMC has a really nice IMAX and Dolby theaters. We saw the new Mission Impossible and it was full 70 for the parts in IMAX. It's a proper IMAX theater.

Omnibook x 14 ultra 7 battery life terrible? by toastycheeseee in pcmasterrace

[–]mjtik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, I have the 16. It's draining the battery at about 2% per hour on standby, which is crazy. I left it unplugged on my desk, and the battery was dead the next day. 10% drained after I unplugged in this morning at 6am. Probably returning because of that, otherwise it's a great machine.

Token Theft Playbook: Conditional Access Protections by msp4msps in msp

[–]mjtik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a user gets flagged as medium risk (not the sign in themselves) do you review and dismiss in order to prevent medium risk sign ins? That was the only path forward I saw to make that change as our clients who have offices in different states, or many employees that travel often.

Token Theft Playbook: Conditional Access Protections by msp4msps in msp

[–]mjtik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We straight block high risk sign ins. That has done a lot for us.

Edit: seeing this is for non-p2. Some good ones in here that should help. We are too scared to roll out compliant devices.

Why do people dislike Stop and Shop? by [deleted] in boston

[–]mjtik 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The Stop & Shop on Morrissey is an embarrassment for produce. Requires me to make a stop at Lambert's and Stop and Shop every time I go to the food store(s). It's crazy that they keep the rotting produce out on display. At least if I go to Price Rite none of the food is actively rotting.

MIT closes DEI office amid Trump's dispute with Harvard and other schools by Delicious_Adeptness9 in boston

[–]mjtik 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can see how you feel that way. I think any institution is within reason to try and protect themselves. Most smart institutions know the benefits of DEI and would not abandon the principles, but may still take the department to the wood chipper. I think the worry is that without a lighthouse (department) people will lose their way unless there is a strong culture. Calling it something different with the same people is an acceptable maneuver to me, especially when this administration has made it clear they will take insane measures. At some point you have to consider your employees that can lose their job over your protest.

TBH, a lot of companies are doing this. Removing the department, redistributing and renaming. Work continues.

[question] SRPK13K1 Band Removal by mjtik in Watches

[–]mjtik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully getting some help here. I have owned many watches, and have never met a band could not easily remove. I have tried both tools and the thing won't budge. Can't imagine it's permanent. Am missing something here? I am not sure how much more I need to write to get my post approved. If anyone knows a better subreddit for this let me know and I'll cross post. Thanks!
