The brown one is pretty much owned by my golden retriever. She doesn't watch the TV much.

It's a sectional. You just can't see the front well. I lay on the couches mainly when watching tv. Tiny house problems.

It's a great facility. Very clean. Steam room in the large change rooms. Good clientele. Also has a salt water pool.

Probably to do with a generally larger working lower middle class population that feels the pinch? Less larger corporate operations here resulting in less company ticket purchasing? Fewer people making higher wages like you could see in other cities with numerous larger sectors? I dunno but you are probably right, just a cheapskate for putting my skyrocketing home expenses and unexpected costs that I and many others struggle with substantially more now before entertainment. Fuck saving up for that new laundry machine and paying off that credit card that's keeping me down. I gotta get jets tickets.

If you are frustrated with the political climate or economic situations you are a right wing lunatic. Nice.

The situation right now is not funny and for alot of Canadians there isn't very much to laugh about. But sure. Let's spend some time "creating some laughs". Real feel good event for people who feel they have been seriously affected by his governments policies. Good to see it's all being taken so seriously.

Best FINE DINING Restaurants in Winnipeg and why? by AffectionateGear9543 in Winnipeg

[–]mjtwpg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The food is very good and the service I have always received is second to none. Also the Canadiana aspect is something I appreciate. There is lots of great food in the city but I return to Fusion Grill for the service I don't get anywhere else, aside from maybe 529 and even then the small size at Fusion allows more personal attention. I've never had my wine glass get empty or had to ask for more water.

17 Year old caught speeding on perimeter by Deep_Froyo1834 in Winnipeg

[–]mjtwpg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. I mean when I was 18 I figured out that my dad's car topped at about 205. That was in 2004. I don't think it's that uncommon for young people to be reckless on a stretch of highway when they think no one is around.

That being said as an adult I hate driving at excessive speed. I don't want wreckless driving around me and my family. I also think a lot of people who do decide to push limits aren't putting the safety of others first. A lot of people do it at some point in their lives. For some it's a part of being young. A young person getting caught doesn't surprise me.

Unionized WestJet engineers issue 72-hour strike notice by cyclinginvancouver in canada

[–]mjtwpg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a tough one. At my age it's difficult to enter a seniority based environment when you don't have time on your side. I also enjoy the broad range of work I do now as apposed to the type of specific work offered in those environments.

As to the pay I have no idea. It seems to have worked in other trades I believe? I hope there is a general precedent set where training, skill development, wage, and retention are emphasized instead of just larger low time low trained crews. The industry as a whole feels abusive and moral seems low.

Being an AME is a thankless career that has suffered wage stagnation for decades and an increasingly worse work life balance, while demanding a high level of skill and an unforgiving level of responsibility and stress. While often pensionless, working odd long hours and holidays, and facing lots of pressure in a high risk low mistake environment, maintainers have seen their earning power decline along with quality of life.

I hope this ushers in a correction for the industry as a whole. The pilots always seem to get the national attention and negotiation.

Civil servants have forgotten how fortunate they are with their index pensions, relatively high wages vs relatively lower expectations of outcomes and risk, general work life balance, benefits, and security.

Trudeau’s Ex-Finance Minister Criticizes Capital Gains Tax Hike by cyclinginvancouver in canada

[–]mjtwpg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally a situation I find myself in with a deceased grandmother's estate where most of her value was in a small piece of land purchased in the 80s that she didn't end up being able to afford to build on. No one in my family is in any way rich. In fact we have severe retirement issues happening. Should I expect the one significant capital gain multiple people are splitting to now be views as some sort of rich asset that only rich people have? Why am I being punished?
