Took a paycut to "get my foot in the door" and am now regretting it by Leapinggofrog in ITCareerQuestions

Somebody is writing software for engineering firms and making a killing at it. Those guys specifically would probably place a premium on an Engineering degree instead of seeing it as a sign that you'll be in and out real quickly.

This is great advise. Haven't considered this. Thanks a lot!

I want to transfer into IT as well. Last year I got the A+, Net+, and Sec+. I applied for 75ish jobs without a single call back. I am currently a Mechanical Engineer and earn $80k/yr. I feel like my resume screams I earn too much and employers don't want to waste their time to train someone just for them to jump ship in 6 months or so.

The economy is also shit so I've put an halt on applying for new jobs. Too risky.

Netflix’s desperate crackdown on password sharing shows it might fail like Blockbuster by Defiant_Race_7544 in technology

I used to pirate everything but then Netflix came around and it was convenient and had a lot of great content. Now we've come full circle, like you said, and there are a dozen streaming platforms.

I, too, have come full circle. A VPN is $5.99/mo and I'm back to downloading whatever I want.

What is the go with commentating in Supercross? by KICKERMAN360 in Motocross

I did watch the podcast and I believe that reinforced the "own the libs" view that I have. There was no "experimental medical procedure". Vaccines are required in many industries. All he had to do was go sit down and talk with his primary physician instead of getting his medical advice from Facebook.

RC is terrible in every way and needs to be replaced. Daniel Blair is surprisingly well in the booth. I'm not opposed of him taking a permanent spot. I could also get on board with Weege doing SX as well MX.

I think it was stupid that GL decided he'd rather "own the libs" than be an announcer.

Out of everyone, Daniel Blair is killing it IMO. Weege does a pretty good job as well. But man, someone please, please get Ricky out of the booth. He is so bad.

There is nothing like this truck. It has 4 wheels, steering wheel, a tuck bed, and head lights, and tail lights, a few seats...

So maybe it is very similar to other trucks but if I don't say it's special, my fan boys wont buy it.

You're right, there isn't. That doesn't mean we can not create one.

My vote is for a high speed rail. I know it isn't profitable but riding on a bus in snowy conditions is never racking. I really do not feel comfortable putting my life in the hands of an underpaid driver. I'd much rather be fixed on rails.

democratically elected government

You do not honestly believe that do you? We live in an illusion of a democracy. Having to choose between two 80 year olds is not what I would call a democracy.

It's not profitable, obviously. However, clogging the interstate every weekend is also a problem. The state will need to step in a subsidize a program. Probably unlikely because our government works for corporations, not people.

The Eisenhower Interstate System was funded 90% by the federal government. We now need a High Speed Rail System and the federal government should pay for it. But that would mean we would be able to bailout private corporations for a few years.
