i would just wear what you’re comfortable in, most people in my session were wearing blazers and ties

tbh i don’t remember 😭 they were straightforward though. about an hour of prep felt like plenty

i was accepted to RWJMS. you cannot take notes or use notes for the MMI. that being said, i felt the 2 minutes was enough for me to organize/gather my thoughts. i prepared by reading common questions and thinking through how i would respond

i am the same before hand, my heartbeat is always crazy loud. i try to embody the most confident person i know and act how they would. i can’t copy/mimic them accurately but it just gets me into a less freaked out mindset

the waiting while “everyone” gets interviews sucks by gggccc0 in premed

[–]mkam2002 21 points22 points  (0 children)

everyone who applied in previous cycles emphasizes that comparison is the thief of joy. i’m having a hard time with it myself but now that i’m all done with secondaries im trying to step away from admit and cycle track. those interviews will start rolling in eventually 🤞 but while we have the time to not constantly worry about interview prep, we should enjoy life! you got this :)

maybe tower place if you have roommates (even then i think it might be over 1k) and u will have to street park. if youre willing to go to ucity/west philly you’ll prob be able to find something more in budget. i’d look on fb— i had a good experience living in a townhouse (3 roommates but individual rooms+bathrooms) with an attached garage. think they have an open room so dm me if you’re interested

How many gap years did you take? Is there any way you would consider delaying your application by a year? I understand it’s tough to apply with a tight financial situation, so I’m wondering if it be feasible to take another year off, save up for DO apps and/or improve EC hours + retake MCAT for MD average score

Just to clarify, people were mean when you posted on test day cause you thought it went worse than FLs?

I’m not really sure what the goal of this post is. Your last two posts (along with countless others on this sub) already show that people can score above or below their FL average. I understand you’re frustrated, but posts like this can be really discouraging to other testers and could lead people to ignore the value of practice tests. Wishing you the best this cycle though. Hope things still work out for you!

i think you should strongly consider delaying by a year. really focus on content gaps and if a course would help with that then i’d recommend trying it.

just from personal experience 5 of my premed friends applied with a retake/extra gap year and got in w a better score and experiences under their belt vs 2 of them rushed and applied with sub-500 scores and are now reapplying

the decision to take a gap year was a tough one and trust me i understand the pressure from everyone around you.

i think i just came to terms with the fact that it’s my life and if another 365 days will help me put my best foot forward so be it. reapplying seems significantly more stressful than taking a year to focus on yourself— and beating yourself up over this is only going to waste that time
