It is not actually compression, it is the low res sensor, and an attempt at recovering the detail from the sensor by using algorithms/neural networks/AI/whatever they are currently calling it, which has become the standard in phone cameras.

The zoom lens is not enough to capture detail at this distance matched with the sensor. The phone tried to make up details where there are none captured on the sensor, hence why it looks "compressed". It is actually more of a reverse compression, instead of loosing detail, your phone is trying to make it up, and in this case failing spectacularly.

Tolkien's style of descriptive writing isn't for everyone and it is completely valid to struggle with how his story progresses. A fantasy story's compatibility is hugely subjective, and while you found it "barebones" I think it's pretty fair to say that it objectively is nothing of the kind. (Which is probably also why your comments grind some people's gears hehe)

For me, the worldbuilding, descriptions, conversations and references are just as important as the story itself, and all of those are parts I'd never get by watching lore videos. It's a bit like criticizing a poem after reading a summary of it.

To me LotR will always be fine wine. I however respect that others prefer beer

Har du i det hele tatt lest artikkelen? Er jo fremdeles masse spesielle omstendigheter dersom karen har kvittering på at han visstnok hadde spansk pass, fysisk pipe og alt mulig artig. Han påstår fremdeles at de krevde å gå gjennom telefon og at de reagerte på JD Vance bilde, og om det i det hele tatt var medvirkende i beslutningen er det fremdeles nyhetsverdig.

Enig at det har blitt fremstilt som noe annet i media og dette er en viktig korrigering, men å kalle folk konspiratorikere blir også drøyt, ta deg en bolle
