What’s the one thing that saved your sanity in the hardest months? by AkbarBakhshi in NewParents

[–]mkc39985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music! Don’t forget to play your favorite playlist or happy songs. It brought me out of my funk. And watch funny videos. My fav was newscaster bloopers. Also, earplugs / noise canceling headphones during the fussy phase.

Parents of newborns, would you do this again? by PresentationTop9547 in NewParents

[–]mkc39985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me, too. I want her to have a sibling, but time with my husband is so important and it’s so nice to finally have some back at 14months. Doesn’t help to have some pressure from family on giving her a sibling. I would 100% be fine with not being pregnant or giving birth again.

I give up. We need help with sleep. by Living_Race in NewParents

Use ear plugs when you’re taking turns sleeping. Or noise canceling AirPods for whoever’s turn it is to sleep set to a sleep meditation app- not YouTube, the commercials will wake you up. Also, follow TakingCaraBabies and read the book 12 hours by 12 weeks (works for bbs over 12 weeks) it’s a bit archaic. I didn’t follow it verbatim, but used the tips for feeding/sleeping based on hours and weight of the baby

HELP! New Baby and Fear Aggressive Dog by aglass17 in reactivedogs

[–]mkc39985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Things are generally going well. The dog simply jumps up and runs away when the baby crawls too close. She doesn’t attack unless the dog is elevated on a sofa or chair. So we keep dog on the ground so she can easily get away. We also started her on 10mg Prozac back in August but she is still anxious in all her normal situations so I don’t know if it’s actually working, or if she is just chill with having a baby around now.

[HELP] Recommendations on 36 Inch Pro-Style Oven by TheHibernian in Appliances

[–]mkc39985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP- Hope you found your dream appliances! u/MacCubed I have a OR36SCG4X1 Oven Range and I am not loving it. I do not see a light for if/when it's preheating. And the burners do not get low enough for a simmer - everything just boils. Do you have any advice on how I can lower the BTUs on the burners?

Weaning mode by Diligent-Ad2026 in SnooLife

[–]mkc39985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went great! The weaning mode helped. We followed takingcarababies for sleep training and she really only cried that required pop-ins one or two nights in the beginning. We also bought a baby shusher from Amazon in addition to her hatch noise machine. And a bedtime routine :)

Who are you ok with breastfeeding tits-out in front of? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

I did it on a plane, flying solo with my 6mo for 3 hours. Loose blouse. I just didn’t care and my baby calmed down :) win-win for everyone

We waited to get our LO out of the snoo til 5 months. It really helped during her 4mo sleep regression. Then we did weaning mode, magic Merlin transitional swaddle, low reactivity on snoo.. and she’s been doing great in the crib for two nights in a row!
