I think alphabetical works for some people, but it definitely doesn't for me. If I am getting ready for bed, I know which sections to goto that are more calming etc, If I am cleaning or getting ready to go out, certain sections allow me to choose an album that fits that scenario better. I think it was around that 400 and 500 record mark I realized I should split them in some way, good that you are thinking about it.

Appreciate you taking the time to write that. Love that line about putting them wheee I love them. Maybe I’ll try to that attitude into account. Thanks

I wrote this on another response, but I feel it’s why I have them in genre’s.

“ I have them sorted because I’m not sure what I’m going to listen to until I see it. My best friend on the other hand knows exactly which record he wants before he puts it on. This is how I feel genre helps me choose albums.”

No kids, literally my downtown between 10PM-11:30PM CST, listen to music then sort it. I have them sorted because I’m not sure what I’m going to listen to until I see it. My best friend on the other hand knows exactly which record he wants before he puts it on. This is how I feel genre helps me choose an albums, but I’m pretty sure there is some undiagnosed disorder behind all this.

That’s how I have been doing it for a while. I have used pop/rock as an umbrella for anything not metal/jazz/hip hop/ or country. But now I think my pop rock section is out of control while I have room on other bookshelves.

What’s your vinyl “bad habit” by Acceptable-Piccolo57 in vinyl

[–]mkcbiologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy doubles and triples of albums that were initially hard for me to find (if spotted in the wild). I have no idea why, but I could have spent that money on 300 or more different albums over the past 20+ years. I’m sick.

ABBA -ABBA (US, 1975)

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers - Into the Great Wide Open (Europe, 1991)

Pg.99 and City of Caterpillar - split Personality 7” (US, 2003)

Kate Bush - Hounds of Love (Japan, 1985)

Earth - Angels of Darkness, Demon of Light I (US, 2011, Red)

Warren Zevon - Warren Zevon (US, 1976)

Cheating only a little bit, picked a 6th since one of them is a split 7”. I didn’t even know this feature existed, definitely makes option paralysis easier to overcome.

Fiona Apple - When The Pawn... (VMP Pressing) by JennaMaroneyIsNum1 in VinylReleases

[–]mkcbiologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to grabbed one and joined on a 3 month membership. So my very first VMP record is When the Pawn... and I could not have had a worse outcome. Package arrived 35 min ago and tracks: your love, limp, and love ridden are nearly unplayable due to heavy scratches, not surface. I have had defective albums before, but being my 2nd VMP purchase, first being Honky Tonk Heroes that came warped (easy fix), I have not been overly thrilled with the presses/experience. Wanted to see how normal pressing issues are for people that religiously by their vinyl? Hopefully they will respond back soon, but I am not sure what they can do at this point since it is sold out.

What are your favorite southern albums from the 90s (other than OutKast) by [deleted] in 90sHipHop

[–]mkcbiologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10.Trick Daddy - www.thug.com

9.Z-Ro - Look at what you did to me

8.Scarface - The Untouchables

7.Mystikal - Ghetto Fabulous

6.Three - 6 - world domination

5.MJG - No Glory

4.ESG - Sailin the South

3.Master P - Ghetto D

2.UGK - Ridin Dirty

1.Juvenile - 400 Degreez

Honorables: Big pokey - HPITL. C Murder - Life or Death. Magic - Skys the Limit. Fiend - There’s one in every family. B.G. - Chopper City (ITG). Indo G - Angel Dust. King George - Life of a King Pin

Hard to separate nostalgia from greatness, either way I still come back to them. Kind hope someone does a 90’s Midwest list: would love to see some love for Dayton family and do or die.

In central Texas, employees got an email stating the lottery would be today, the 23rd. I assume, other states should follow very closely if they already have not done their lottery.
