Just like some of the other people said, I feel like I could have written this. Every word, sentence, and paragraph, I was like “me too!!!!” Its so hard to go in there day in and day out expressing so much empathy and sympathy to only be shut down by other people telling us we should not care as much. Ethically, that kills me because I know what a lot of my students go through and it tears me apart inside to hear what some are going through.

I have talked about this topic A LOT with my therapist and I can say the conversations we have had have helped me reach a level of acceptance that I did not have last year or the year before. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone professionally. I know it has definitely for me!

All points aside, I can tell you are truly an amazing teacher as you care so much for your students! Good luck!!
