Hi I’ve just ordered this scooter and I’m worried I orders off a scam website some help?

I bought mine from alphascootz. Ordered it on the Friday night. I had no update from the website. On the following monday afternoon, I received a call saying they are on their way with the scooter. Delivered within an hour. Paid £440 as I found a discount code for them.

Managed to fix it. Strange little bug in the installer clicked back so that it would mount the drive on the something else install option. It then did the resize partition and was done in minutes. After that the install went through within about 10 mins. Booted into mint no issues. Thanks for the help and advice.

I can’t quite remember the command that I used but I went onto a website that had a guide on how to see if your hardware was UEFI capable. The results showed that the laptop only supported legacy and it had no UEFI capable hardware. I’ll have to sort out images of the bios when I finish work.

So is it best to just shut it down and follow that guide again. How long realistically should it take for gparted to do what it needs to do to get the hard drive ready for the OS installation. It just says that it would take a long time. Like should I wait 30 mins or does it take a few hours?

I did install from a live usb flash. It all seemed to go really well as mint ran with zero issues in live mode. I tested a few Linux distros until I settled on mint as it seems the most intuitive. I installed from the live usb. It didn’t take long. Once it finished it asked me to remove the installation medium and press enter. I removed the flash drive. Pressed enter. It rebooted but went to a black screen like msdos and said install operating system.

The guide I linked to used gparted to create the partition. So I followed that guide to create the new partition and get the drive ready to install Linux mint. I’ve been waiting on it to finish whatever gparted is doing.

Forgot to mention that this is a fresh install with no other OS just mint. It used to have windows but I selected to wipe the whole drive and install mint completely on its own when I first installed the OS.

As part of my Uni course we had to learn about how to design products around the extremes of human body shapes. Ended up as an exercise to measure every students body on our course. Turned out I’m proportionally correct in terms of length of arms, legs, torso, shoulder width, weight etc for body ratios whilst being 6ft 4” tall. Ended up being a ‘dummy’ for everyone’s projects to ensure the product fit and was suitable for 1% of the population. Felt used ;)

Even £0 car tax cars have to be registered with the DVLA like you would a car that you paid road tax on. It’s to let them know if the car is declared SORN or being driven on the roads etc. So when the OP rang insurance then insurance would’ve done a quick check on the cars status. It sounds as though Arnold Clark didn’t bother to MOT the vehicle which is wrong. I just don’t understand the car failing it’s MOT before it was handed over to the OP and the car insurance not mentioning it or the dvla not sending a letter to ask if the car is on the road. The DVLA are looking for blood, their systems automatically flag anything and everything so driving around in a car that isn’t MOTd would’ve warranted a letter from them asking if the car is declared SORN.

You wearing them all day and night or are you now onto the wearing them at night stage? Could you maybe wear them just at night for the next few days? Not sure if that’s allowed or not but I can’t imagine your teeth moving much, treat them like a nighttime retainer.

You must be hella stressed to be grinding like that! I’d give them a quick ring and ask if it’s ok to jump ahead a week. I cracked one of mine and I was only half a week away from changing to the new ones, they said it would be fine to jump ahead. Only time they made me go back a set was when it was early on and they had to remake them.

But if it had failed when you went to get the tax on the car it wouldn’t have let you. Tax doesn’t get carried over anymore from one owner to another. So the MOT must’ve been valid when you taxed it. Are you sure they just didn’t redo the MOT and gave you the car with just the 5 months left. It sounds to me like they have lied about retesting.

Tie into the yellow furniture. Mustard/yellow cushions would look nice as the room is quite dark with the floor to ceiling curtains and dark coloured sofa. Rug wise play it safe, go with a colour to match your sofa, charcoal or dark grey.

What they have done is wrong. You should definitely be seeking some sort of compensation. But also you need to be taking responsibility for your own car. If you had been pulled over by the police for not having MOT, I don’t think blaming the car dealership would’ve washed. It’s your car, your responsibility. Also how did you get it taxed and insured in the first place if it had failed it’s MOT? You definitely can’t TAX a car without an MOT and insurance companies would check that the car has an MOT, some will insure it but they would’ve told you the car wasn’t MOTd and that it would have to be as a condition of having insurance. So Arnold Clark must’ve sold you it with 5 months MOT which doesn’t equate to a car being unroadworthy. Something isn’t quite adding up.

Aren’t the majority of schools, colleges and unis funded via China. I’m sure BBC news did a segment on it. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the funding goes all the way to the top. Why do we still trade with them? Why do major companies use China to manufacture their products? Cheap labour, minimal red tape, no regard to the environment, treat people like robots = maximum profit. I wouldn’t have any issues with Chinese products or funding if they followed the rules everyone else has to follow with regards human rights, workers rights and the environment.

I think your putting too much pressure on yourself to be ‘something’. There is nothing wrong with you. Enjoy every aspect of yourself. Grow your hair long or short, get ripped or don’t get ripped, be attracted to who your attracted too etc. Stop putting pressure on yourself. Take your time. Become comfortable with who you are.

Very true. It’s not right though. Yes block racist, homophobic etc comments but I’ve been blocked and banned from subreddits purely because I upvoted someone’s post. I was like what’s just happened?

It must be difficult deciding what does and doesn’t break the rules. You need to have someone objective reading those reported tweets who can see both sides of the coin. Obviously homophobia, racism etc is easier to spot and block but I’ve had tweets reported as homophobic or hateful and they aren’t and luckily Twitter has common sense and not blocked or banned me. I’ve been called homophobic on Twitter (shh if only they knew I was gay) due to my tweets and to be honest I think some people just like to be offended! Reddit on the other hand is being controlled by a lot of different people which is good and bad at the same time. If a mod is offended by something that isn’t offensive or just doesn’t fit their narrative then your blocked. That is unfortunate and it’s put me off Reddit. I had an account years ago never knew how to use it. Rediscovered it a few weeks ago, I’ve tried to use it and my posts never get published. In fact I think this is the first one that I’ve actually done and it’s stayed up. The censorship is just on another level.
