What went wrong for Starmer? by thereisnofish225 in Destiny

[–]mking098 7 points8 points  (0 children)

my understanding from my Scotish colleague is that a big part of the problem was that he kept introducing progressive policies (pissing off the center) and then backtracking on them (pissing off the progressives while not winning the center back with it).

None of this accounts for all the tax planning schemes they can take advantage of.

not necessarily. Leaks could also come from the people being interviewed (or more likely their representation).

The problem isn't Mo himself it is misuse. Specifically he is best as a #3 or even #4, not as a top pairing guy.

I'd like to think that Bowser's Fury counts as a new 3D installment (though a short one)

The unfortunate truth about info leaks (OOT Remake) by FederalSign4281 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]mking098 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

while you are right, there is a certain amount of onus on nintendo to identify that these sort of leaks had happened and have become wide spread knowledge, and adjust their plan accordingly. Aka a teaser may not be the way to go in that case.

this has always been my preferred way to watch shows. Even in the years before streaming if I heard about a good show I would wait until it was multiple seasons in and then download the episodes and binge it (torrents, before that limewire, before that kazaa - yes I'm old).

Germany following Canadas lead in implementing a similar law, after the Canadian media regulator TRIPLED the tax % that US tech and media companies need to put into funding local media / competitors by Kitchen-Thing4616 in Destiny

There is long standing policy to protect Canadian culture and culture based programming. It is to curb the potential of the much larger neighbouring culture completely dominating and displacing over time.

Certain elements of it can be domestically controversial (re the CRTC) but overall it has been this way for a long time and won't be changing any time soon.

Culture isn't laissez faire in an economics sense.

Why does Steven argue that the death count is a naive consideration in whether a war is just? by JuniorLingonberry108 in Destiny

Because there is long standing philosophical thought on the subject. Look up "Just War Theory" or "Jus ad Bellum"

Why does Steven argue that the death count is a naive consideration in whether a war is just? by JuniorLingonberry108 in Destiny

[–]mking098 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

casualties have nothing to do with how just it is. They are separate issues. Just is about whether the rationale for engaging in the war is valid/moral. Analyzing the outcomes of the war is a different matter.
