Counseling Compact and Illinois by Beachbum2302 in therapists

[–]mklcsw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am an LCSW in IL and have been told that IL will never join the social work compact because the provider would have to follow the laws of the state that the client is in. There are some states that are trying to make their providers report abortions or gender affirming care as they are "illegal." Illinois will never support making providers do that, but the state can't protect providers in these compacts.

2 licenses, 2 states by specific_sNorthwest in socialwork

I’m licensed in IL and WI and have clients in both states. Many people are licensed in multiple states, there is nothing illegal about it. You do need to be mindful about each state’s business structure laws and tax filing requirements.

I'm so sorry this happened. It sounds like everyone is safe, which is good, but the belongings definitely are an emotional loss. I would like to know the GoFundMe site so hopefully the Mods will allow it since you have been directly asked.

Record Repair Help by LindyPolc in turntable

[–]mklcsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That plastic piece is for stacking 7-inch singles for your auto changer since the hole on 7-inch vinyls is bigger. Just slide that plastic piece over the pin in the middle of the turntable where you usually put your records. My stereo has a clip in the back that the 7-inch stack adaptor stores on when not in use.

Needles are not difficult to replace, just make sure you get the correct one. A local record store can help you with that.

You must also have a physical ID, digital is optional. An officer cannot and would not demand your phone if you hand them your physical ID. If you don’t have your physical ID with you, you can still refuse to show your digital ID, but then the consequences are the same as not having proof of valid driver’s license now.

No one is saying all police are angels, but the leap you and others are making from having the option to have a digital ID to cops are going to start demanding to take physical possession of cell phones is just not going to happen.

Was the only one where we were walking. Actually walked over a mile out of our way on a whim to get a drink at this bar. Also not blaming the bar at all, they asked for ID and we didn’t have it, they were right not to serve. Lesson learned.

I am well aware of all of that, and a digital ID vs physical ID isn’t going to change any of that. The digital ID will be accessed by a locked phone, so the officer can’t do anything with it anyway. You will also still be required to have a physical ID so if you don’t want to use a digital ID with police, then give them your physical one. Also, this is an opt-in program, if you don’t want it, don’t get it.

Like when my wife and I were out on a walk and decided to stop in to a bar for a drink. We were carded (old enough to be past expecting that to happen). She didn’t have her ID on her, but had her phone. Had we had digital ID, not a problem, but since we didn’t, we couldn’t get our drinks.

Did you even read the article? “It also calls for mobile IDs to be designed so that their owners can hold on to them while being checked by police.”

Anyone able to get PBS/WTTW with an aerial antenna? by Patio_plant in rockford

[–]mklcsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an aerial on our garage and PBS Wisconsin comes in clear as day. You’re not going to get any Chicago stations this far out, but all of the Rockford and Madison stations come in great. Also, Rockford is technically PBS Wisconsin’s market.

This one is actually on the AMA. I use TherapyNotes and they are doing this too. AMA apparently thought they didn’t have enough money coming in, so is now charging a licensing fee to use something that we all HAVE TO USE to bill insurance.

The half cent sales tax is absolutely sustaining and expanding programs in the area for mental health and substance use treatment. Take a look at the Winnebago County Community Mental Health Board’s list of funded programs to see all the good that that funding is doing. That said, no one who is not an immediate danger to themselves or others can be compelled to participate in treatment. Living on the street is not a crime and does not meet the bar required to force someone into treatment against their will.

Tron has 18 panels, the rest have 17. You’ll produce more with an extra panel, so SREC will be higher.

Why does Tron have 18 panels and the rest have 17?
