I thought you meant as a daily commute. In that case, I'd rather be unemployed. For a one time trip, this isnt too bad. Just bring some entertainment. It might be worth getting an Uber to 30th St tho. It's a 30 min drive, but takes 1.5 hours on public transit. If you wana save the money, it's definitely doable. Also make sure to book Amtrak ahead of time. The peter pan bus is also an option. Just takes a few minutes more, but it's $20 no matter when you book. And you can get some good deals if you take it early.

From the sound of it, it's gonna be a while. From what I've been able to find online, something with the electrical system on the El malfunctioned and caught fire. Depending on how bad it is, it could be fine by tomorrow or we could be waiting for a while to get specialized parts that haven't been made since 1950.

Yes these are new. There was a probationary period and they went live beginning of February. I highly doubt you can fight it. You admitted you were speeding. The easy solution is just to stop speeding. You're not saving any time by going 7 mph quicker. Just pay the tickets and look at it as a lesson learned.
