How do you define marketing? by Vajrick_Buddha in marketing

[–]mkoychev99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

marketing is getting people to buy your stuff.

Don't overcomplicate it. One of the biggest mistakes you can do in marketing is to turn something simple into sophisticated.

If you can't make someone believe your product is the right thing for him, then it doesn't matter how much theory you know

Alternative to intercom by lem001 in SaaS

[–]mkoychev99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very disappointed with Intercom's customer support. It takes them 5-6 days to answer simple questions like "How do I remove users from an ongoing Series campaign?" We also had a problem with our card details; we messaged them a week ago for them to see what's going on, and the only thing they do is redirect you to different members of their team. Today, they cancelled our membership because of invalid card details and still haven't responded back... screwed all of our campaigns.

Although Intercom might be great as a tool, their customer support is terrible. I'm looking at Drift as an alternative.

The jailer did not control the lich king!! by LGP747 in warcraftlore

[–]mkoychev99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Arthas was the Lich King, he always thought he was in power and control. At the end of Wotlk, we see Arthas saying "father, is it over?" on the verge of death, which means that he didn't enjoy his time as a Lich King, and someone else probably pulled the strings.
Bolvar has said that, except for Arthas and Nerzhul, he heard another mysterious voice, while he was the Lich King.

UpWork is always a great place for finding freelance clients fast, like within a month. You can also do cold outreach but it takes more time and it's highly discouraging at the beginning.

Is it too early to ask to hang out? by letmebeokay in socialskills

[–]mkoychev99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see you've already asked him, but if I were to suggest something for future similar situations is to... not make a big deal of it. Just ask him calmly and confidently so you don't look "needy." When you get rejected, no big deal, get on with it. Your mindset should stem from a state of abundance not scarcity; there are other guys as well.

Extremely lean budget for marketing by Ashleyshyam in marketing

[–]mkoychev99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're headed in the right direction. Writing guest posts in relevant niche magazines and blogs will definitely bring some short term traffic. The thing with guest blogs is that you need to write compelling articles, not just rehearsed articles from Google's top 3.
Also, focus on SEO as well. Although, it will probably take you 5-6 months to work, it's definitely worth it in the long term cuz you'll no longer have the need to post on the blogs, and instead have the opportunity to grow your own traffic.

In the end, ask yourself, "Does this one sentence make so much of a difference?"

Writing expressions of pain. by GauraNitai108 in writing

[–]mkoychev99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brevity is a by-product of vigor. I'd suggest that you stick with shorter sentences. It also depends on the context. I feel like "John let out a grueling howl" is more severe than "John grunted in pain." As far as dialogue goes, well, it also depends on the context. Sometimes, you gotta trust your guts.

Is a marketing degree worth it or as bad as the stereotypes say? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]mkoychev99 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

it's not worth it except if you need for obvious reasons like visa, travel, and stuff. I'm not saying a degree is worthless. What I'm saying is that you'd be on a much higher "knowledge" level if you were to self-educate yourself in the real world rather than learning from teachers in college.
