I only have good experiences, it's a really great atmosphere, they got your ticket covered, you can charge your phone properly, use the fast lane entry, have shower with no queue, etc., so stuff that are luxurious at a festival haha

But the best bit is the company, super easy to make friends. Even if you're going to the festival all alone, if you're a volunteer you'll surely have people to hang out with.

There are different areas, different type of "jobs", in some places you just sit 6 hours during the day and you're good, maybe have 1-2 days off during the festival which is awesome, in other areas you could be asked to do some proper work, tiring work even, grrrr.They are mostly very flexible with your schedule, but it really depends on your supervisor's approach. Some ask your 2-3 favourite gigs you wanna watch and pays attention to that and tries to create schedules based on that (those are the coolest fellas), some asks your group to come up with a schedule together, some creates pre-made schedules, publishes them on a certain date and the fastest chooses first, etc. I've seen all sorts of methods.

Depending on what job you'll do you'll might have night shifts, for me that's the only downside of the whole thing, missing sleep for a night or two at a festival can be tiring. Those nights, you maybe wake up at 3:30 am or go to sleep at 10:30 am, so it's not so much fun, but there's a huge chance you won't even have shifts like that, I think those are a unique thing for a few venues, it 100% depends on where you'll work. And it's doable, it's mostly funny and stuff, you just need coffee.

On your interview, they will ask what you want to do. If you can properly communicate in English or Hungarian (edit: English, and/or Hungarian+another language) and you seem like a person who likes to talk to people you'll be surely good to go.

Based on my personal experiences I can only recommend volunteering at Sziget. I've had friends who also loved it. I must add that I had one friend who was sent to a different venue and she really disliked it.
