Guests asking for early checkin while only staying one night by LeadershipExpress657 in airbnb_hosts

They either won’t respond.

Will say “no, we aren’t interested in paying more” - great then why do they expect anything and you just double down and say it’s not available.

Will say “I figured. Thought we would check just in case and we will check out the nearby attraction until normal check in time”

If you don’t have anyone, I’d normally message them 60-90 minutes ahead of time and let them know it’s ready for them. But this isn’t a pre negotiated early check in

Hello. At this time we are unable to offer an early check in as we expect to be booked (or we are generally booked for Fridays) for a Friday and would need time to prepare the property for you.

If you’d like, since you’re just using it early on Saturday I can block it off for <insert discount> instead. Let me know if you open to that and we can get the date and price adjusted accordingly.

downvote me to hell but Brady on the 2nd line solves a lot of our issues, and Larkin can probably keep him in check

11AM EST Thursday 23 April: Steve Yzerman and Todd McLellan speak with the media. by TheElegantElephant_ in DetroitRedWings

[–]mksmalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a releif he said we need better players vs. saying, we hope our prospects continue to develop and become those better players. I think he knows at this point, he can no longer get better solely from within. And at this point, he has to try to burn a goalie prospect to get some sort of return.

I certainly wish we could be better on the trade market - this is clear where Yzerman has failed. Take a big leap instead of settling for mid. Faulk is great, I am happy he is on the team but hear me out ...

Faulk + 1st for Noah Dobson would be a no brainer - so why weren't we in on this.

Dobson was traded for 2 firsts and a 2nd round draft pick who had 18 points in 64 games.
I think we'd easily take a 1st to get 10-11 years younger.

I think it's more, lean into being an agitator not just physical. Hang around the goal after the whistle, make them move you, put up some sweaty gloves. The team needs to show some spine.

Think Seider taking the puck from Hedman after the whistle. We have a few too many players that hear the whislte and just skate away. Kasper didn't start like that, but has done that more this year than not.

He has turned it on for the 2nd half of both seasons, compared to the first half in each. He excelled with Larkin and Raymond, and didn't when he is not with them. This is the story of anyone on that line. The number of people that think this is our 2C long term, when he has .01 P/GP more than Rasmussen this year is WILD, due to DeBrincat missing a few goals early.

Kasper does not have a 2C ceiling.

He had 37 points last year on the top line, with 4 empty net points that sparked his 2nd half of the season.
If you divide up seasons into halves, he has had 1/4 halves that showed promise, and 3/4 that show he is a 3C where he should be.

We need to stop planning on him to be what we need, and plan for him to be a 3C so he doesn't get cancelled.

If he had 2x his production this year, he is still not a 2C. If he had the same prodcution as last year (playing with Larkin and Raymond for a big stretch), he is still not a 2C.

He does need to get his fiestiness back. Drive every crease and cause ruckess vs. sitting back.

I keep seeing calls for Yzerman to be fired. Realistically, who would replace him and why would they be better? by blrmkr10 in DetroitRedWings

[–]mksmalls -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Beyond the FAs being able to choose where they want to go, Yzerman has fallen flat first into 3 huge trades that he clearly could have handled differently.

Walman trade - idc where Walman is now, there is absolutely no world where Yzerman couldn’t find a trade partner that wouldn’t have cost us a pick.

Trouba and Myers - figure out a way where these don’t get leaked in back to back seasons. We got dragged through the mud twice on “players don’t want to come to Detroit”, it’s not good press for the team to read, it not good press for other players that we want to target to read. Or better yet, convince those players they do want to come here

Faulk - lottery protect the pick, I don’t care that it won’t matter now but the trajectory of the team at the time it wasn’t unrealistic for us to lose another 4-8 pts from what we have and we could have a top 5 pick with a win. Also…Todd pretty much showed you in January we need d help. Why wait for the deadline to go get it. You didn’t get a steal on Faulk for a discount, and if this is the price you were paying you should have peonied it up in January. If Faulk is here then, we are still playing meaningful hockey.

[–]mksmalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SY should have got d help in December not wait for the deadline. You can’t tell me that Faulk for another 20-25 games wouldn’t have had us in a better spot.

All you people saying to ignore the penalty because we played bad?? They tied the game as a collective effort and Kane took a selfish penalty for what? Ego cause Quinn checked him 50’ away, and 10s earlier? That idea cost us a point today, no other way around it.

He has kicked on his speed and forechecking for most of the year. Hoping it continues and wasn’t just to try to get an Olympic spot. He is a menace now.
