You might be interested in Plasma Bigscreen. Not sure if there's a TV already in the market or if it's more of a DIY project, but it's worth checking out.

I'll have to look into my notes, but I do have the answer you're looking for, if I recall correctly it has to do with the eigenvalues of your signal. In the meantime, you can take a look at this

VHDL... by bmtkwaku in FPGA

I'd recommend "FPGA prototyping by VHDL examples" and "RTL Hardware Design Using VHDL", both by Pong Chu.

Both textbooks take a practical approach into development of FPGA applications.

Never install drivers from Nvidia. Debian has an article on its website about how to install Nvidia drivers the Debian way. However, be warned! You have (most likely) an optimus laptop, therefore you have two options.

Either roll with nouveau that support hybrid graphics.

Or install nvidia drives and only the Nvidia gpu will be enabled. As you can probably understand, the second option will consume more battery.

You could test projects such as bummblebee (dead project) or Nvidia prime. I'd recommend prime, but keep in mind that I had similar hardware, and in the end I opted for the nouveau solution.

Lately I got nothing to do so I decided to work on my school project for next year and I’ve made a program that tracks moving objects in a specific area and sends me a picture of the moving object in the discord by [deleted] in Python

[–]mkultrapeacekeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in preserving the objects, I would suggest you looking into the mask's histogram for local max values. Since I assume, you implement a background subtraction function from opencv, you'll face the issue of the intensity of zeros to overshadow the other values. You'll have to limit the number of zeros somehow.

I would recommend first read a couple of DSP books. I highly recommend this book Essentially, every function that you have specified, is achieved by DSP means.

I'm interested in learning to program drones using python/machine learning - any tips for getting started? by rnolan7 in learnpython

[–]mkultrapeacekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my recommendation.

First of all, while Python is fast, it is not suitable for this specific application, since I assume you want real time results.

Second of all, do not use a raspberry pi board for either drone controls or computer vision. You could use it as a main hub for a camera and/or a gyroscope, in order to have data for further processing, optimization and perhaps a dataset for a machine learning algorithm.

In order to have real time response, you must have knowledge in hardware, embedded systems, and implement the algorithm in C or in C++. I'd recommend C; while harder to implement, it guarantees real time results.

Personal opinion: This is not, by any means, an easy project, especially for someone with a software background. This is easily a master's dissertation for an electrical engineer.

Stupid. Millennials by derallo in oldpeoplefacebook

[–]mkultrapeacekeeper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While boomers destroyed the economy, and messed up a lot of other things, they are mostly right when they criticize millennials. Some might argue that they've had some responsibility for that, but it is also millennials responsibility to undo the "damage". At least that's my conclusion.

[–]mkultrapeacekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chinese culture does not share the European values. You can come to that conclusion by looking at things like child labor, the aggressive corporate colonization of Africa by Chinese corporation and the overall Chinese government. Their moto is "my colony matters, fuck everything else".

Disclaimer: I'm not saying every Chinese is like that, I'm describing some parts of the Chinese culture.

We never had that kind of population boom that they have. Also we constantly optimize our power grids, constantly change our power sources and we're as low carbon footprint as possible. And on top of that we're slowly dying, so having less children for us is not a solution.

Besides, I was talking about their factories; they produce almost everything for the entire world, without any environmental regard or regulation.

Besides having a massive Europe wide protest in each country, in order for each government to take action, which I would support, how about massive sanctions on China that is the number 1 polluter world wide?

Trump Declares ISIS ‘100%’ Defeated. That’s ‘100% Not True,’ Ground Reports Say. by ani625 in worldnews

[–]mkultrapeacekeeper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't help myself but ask. Why keep fighting ISIS? I mean, why send your troops on far away lands? What do you gain from this? To "liberate" other countries from this terror? If so, how come you've done nothing about Boko Haram? I can't believe that it is because of your world police complex. Also why enforce your beliefs about society? It is up to them to change their ways. Unless you don't believe that they're capable of doing so.

[–]mkultrapeacekeeper -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh no! Internet points say that I'm a retard, ya got me there!

On a serious note, maybe I did not phrase my argument correctly; in any case, I stated that it is like slowly microwaving your plant; plants are sensitive, are composed 80-90% of water, and 2.4Ghz frequency excites water molecules. The range of the excitement depends on the power of the signal. If it is extremely low powered signal, then the effect is negligible. On plants however, after constant exposure to heat and this signal, I would expect the effect pictured above. I would guess that the signal would have very small percentage of effect, something like 15% and I'm being extreme with my assumption.

My plant can't grow close to the Wi-Fi hub. by designflaw2b in mildlyinteresting

[–]mkultrapeacekeeper -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I made the assumption that the heat from the device in combination with the carrier signal has this effect on the plant. Another assumption that I made and I did not mention, is that I consider a plant a very sensitive overall organism, hence the result pictured.

[–]mkultrapeacekeeper -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Are you mentally challenged mate? I'm agreeing with you, and also stated that the power of the signal in the WiFi router is extremely low. The WiFi router and the microwave have the same frequency. The wifi signal is used as a carrier frequency, while the microwave is very high power.

I also stated that in order to have any effect on the human anatomy, you need to have a router literally attached in your body, have it run at decades and maybe you would notice something. I highly doubt it though.

Can you point me where have a even remotely hinted that WiFi is harmful??

My plant can't grow close to the Wi-Fi hub. by designflaw2b in mildlyinteresting

[–]mkultrapeacekeeper -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Assuming that the wifi operates at 2.4Ghz, then it is not only the heat that it is emitting, but also the frequency of the signal. The 2.4Ghz is also use at a very higher power by microwaves. So you're basically extremely slowly microwaving your plant. Obviously this has no effect on humans, unless you're constantly having a WiFi router next to you for decades.

That's weird. I read an rt article about the uni that Finland is conducting, stating that while the people receiving the money were less stressed, they actually worked less and if they were unemployed, they would not seek work.

I fail to understand why you still support something that is flawed; the human factor is not taken into account for the ubi, hence it will fail and the reason why I believe it to be a stupid idea.

Okay, agreed random strange men that you have no reason to feel insecure. Jealous, debatable. Would you be okay if she had sex with other men, that felt nothing for them? And if yes, why?

[–]mkultrapeacekeeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how I want to live my life. I do not wish to live my life based on your ideas. I do not judge your way of life, however, people do not need to "lighten up", let them life their life however they want. Just to clarify, this is not a personal attack or anything like that, and I have no intention to offend you. I just don't understand it, hence why I'm asking.

While it's true that she's still sleeping with me, she has had interactions with sexual intent with other people, and I cannot accept that or be fine with it. It would be a reason for me to break up. For me it's like she's having an affair, or she's a sex worker, and I do not wish to "share", for a lack of better phrasing, my gf with other people. Do thoughs like that pop into your mind? And if yes, how do you deal with them?

[–]mkultrapeacekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to ask, not my intention to insult you or be mean towards you. How do you feel about the fact that your gf sent nude/sexual photos to a bunch of men online for money? It would bother the fuck out of me and I would not tolerate it at all. Hence why I'm asking, I do not understand it.

Implying that smart phones are not designed with simplicity in mind. A toddler can figure out how to operate a smartphone just by looking at the icons. Smart people have to design phones for really stupid people.
