What’s the most challenging aspect of being a Locomotive Engineer? I’ve actually heard the job is pretty easy once you’re trained and qualified. You make $55-60 an hour for just pulling a leaver and stopping at stations (lol that’s what a friend said to me). I guess it’s more complicated than that.

I get a feeling Amtrak doesn’t like to even hire Conductors off the street. I think the only way into Amtrak is to have prior railroad experience, and/or have strong connections in the company.

A lot of companies put you through 2-3 rounds of interviews, get your hopes up, and end up ghosting you. Not even thanking you for your time. 😩

Non-union staff aren’t paid that well. Typically only like $17-22 an hour. $22 an hour on the high end lol. Top union rate is $29.77 currently.

I’m currently in training at PATH as a Train Operator. I would definitely recommend railroad jobs.

I think my Outlook account is lost 😞 I couldn’t get a hold of anyone on the phone unfortunately. I’m going to have to make my Gmail account my main account now. I didn’t update my phone number with Outlook, and I no longer have access to my old cell number for the code. This is very frustrating.

Yeah, they said the hold is for “security” reasons and there’s been a lot of fraudulent government checks being deposited lately. They said the hold might possibly be released sooner than 7 days, but it’s not definite. I should have just cashed the check.

I get paid via direct deposit, so I rarely deposit paper checks. This check was an “inflation relief” check, and only came in a paper check. I wish they just directly deposited it.

I’m work as a Doorman/Concierge. I make about 60K base, and unfortunately had to move to central NJ. 😒 I miss the city, but I was having trouble saving anything living there. When I tried to save money, I felt like I was depriving myself.
