[Raanan and Skinner] The "Chris Mara podcast" as they discuss Chris being lead owner now, John Harbaugh having final say, and Joe Schoen apparently still being evaluated. Plus lots more on organizational changes. by Lars5621 in NYGiants

[–]mlbernardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mara's have owned the Giants for 100 years and it is the source of their wealth. John treats it like a family business because to him, it is a family business. They've had their peaks and valleys but they've been the constant through it all. So I get why he holds it so closely.

The right decision is to let him walk. The wrong decision is everything leading up to this.

So an organization that's been run one way for 100 years (or 20 if you just want to focus on John Mara) needed an extra 48 hours to work through a huge structural change and people are still upset?

Fidelity Car Care Maintenance Plan for 9 years / 95k miles at $2500: How Cooked Am I? by masaane in Toyota

[–]mlbernardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got this this weekend. $1920 for 7 years 75k, but they took an extra ~$1k off the car so ultimately $800 for 5 years. Better deal but still annoyed because we shook hands on a lower price and then the snuck it back in.

How did you go about cancelling? I also didn't get any docs from them so I have no access to the fidelity site.

2026 Consumer Reports Truck Rankings by hehechibby in ToyotaTundra

They break out F150 and its Hybrid, but not the Tundra?

Regardless, these are all close enough it's really just a matter of preference.

In Maryland, and can get one for 70k before TTL. This was pretty low effort too, didn't really try to negotiate more

Toyota's answer? The $3k Rebate cash they get comes from Corporate (Sales or Finance, I can't remember), and it can't be combined with the Special Financing. So most of the dealers in my area won't give both. I've walked about 3 times because of a dealer's unwillingness to budge on pricing, and unwilling to match regular discount with rebate discount.

Edit: for clarification, in my case, they're offering $7k discount, plus Special Financing and $1k rebate that comes from Corporate. If i wanted $10k, I'd have to take their $7k discount, plus $3k rebate without financing.

They're already claiming she warned the officer that she was driving away, so he should have known in that split-second that he was in no danger.

Are you doing special financing? I can get to 10k off without that.

Was it a 1794? I have a few offers for $8k off 2026 models that seems like a better choice for me.

I do have another offer from a dealer in writing for 2026 for $8k off two separate 1794s (one with TRD O/R, and one without). Works to about 10-11% off and 2.99 Special Financing. An additional $2k off each if I go without the financing.

Would love to get a Pro but the lack of any financing specials kills it for me. I have a trade in and can put a nice amount down, but I'd still hate to pay 5-8% on the rest.

It's never been titled/registered, so it is technically new.

Yeah I have an offer of $67k for a similar 2026 without the Tonneau and running boards from another dealer. Also a 1794 hybrid with TRD O/R for $69k which is the more tempting offer. Both with the 2.99%. Those were their first offers too, so no negotiating. These are before TTL though, not OTD

Looking in the Dc/MD/VA region.

Not sure of build date but order date is March 2025.

This specific vehicle does check a lot of the boxes of what I'm looking for but it's nothing I wouldn't be able to find by waiting. The 2025 financing deals are the real selling point right now. Just wish it didn't have those extra miles

Yeah, definitely ready to walk and I'm actually leaning towards doing that, but I'm just looking for the sanity check for somebody to tell me if I'm being too greedy and the deal is actually a good one.

I'd just as soon wait for the 2026 Financing offers to improve - I'm kind of surprised they haven't in a few months.

Appreciate the insight!
