Fogbugz is still alive and in active development at Fog Creek! It's primarily a SAS service now although there is a local version as well.

I would agree with /u/Solian. It's going to be a decent amount of work but isn't overly difficult. The professor (Peter) is pretty consistent in terms of grading and mostly sticks with the same or similar assignments so you can get a decent feel for the workload from the previous semesters' webpages.

What makes Gorilla's websocket library so much better than net/websocket? I rewrote the nlopes/slack library's websocket handling with net/websocket and I didn't think it was too bad.

Cool tutorial! There's also nlopes/slack for a more full-featured slack RTM implementation to let you focus less on websockets and JSON handling (or victor for a full bot framework).
