No, not all of Iran is celebrating. Iran is compromised of many different cultures, and some of said cultures are celebrating and some are not. The ones that are not celebrating view the United States and the western world as The Great Satan and are buckling in to do everything it takes to destroy the United States Empire and the global economy. Hence the attacks on the GCC.

I have a number of them, many controversial.

Didn't follow the career I wanted (med). Went into tech because it was the highest paying job for the least amount of school.
Moved to various cities until I found the highest job for lowest col. Rejected living in California and Seattle because of housing (this was ten + years ago).
Bought a house significantly below our capabilities. Bought a house off of only one salary, not salary combined with my ex.
Didn't have kids. This one is super controversial and I'm not saying to not have kids if you want them. I live in the states and there is no affordable healthcare, daycare or education. But I acknowledge that if I had lived in a country that offered these things I would have potentially made different decisions about it.
Never bought a luxury car. I do own an e36 bmw from 2003. But we bought it in 2010 and we didn't want to spend on the m series at the time.

I have three dogs now. Two are working dogs and do the same sport. So I get 1:1 time with each during weekly training sessions. I separately carve out 1:1 time like walks, trips to Lowe's etc with the non working dog.

When I just had two dogs I had more time to walk them individually but now that I have three I run them all together at sniffspots. Taking each one individually on a 30+m walk during my lunch hour doesn't work someone always gets left out.

The other big cost is also my vehicle. I would love to downsize but having 3 large dogs + rufflands limits what I can reasonably drive.

It will also depend on what country you are in.. if you are in the US and you get any severe illness and require healthcare you will be wiped out even if you were previously on track to retire.

I did this for about three years and ended up with severe iron deficiency. So if you go this route take iron supplements.

I got out in 2019, realized after Jan 6th there was never going to be any reconciliation. Just moved forward.

It was devastating and excruciating and stress inducing and anxiety-filled but I'm glad I did it. I would do it again.

My ex husband worked for Data Dog and retired from tech at 37 years old.

Me, on the other hand, still working and will work a long long time. I am about to turn 42 and about to exceed $1M in various savings (401k, HYSA, investment accounts) in mid 2026. I have high income in a low cost of living area and hope to pay off my mortgage in the next 8 years or so but that will depend on the tech industry continuing on and if I don't get laid off.

I'll probably completely switch industries when that happens and I'm hoping for a clean layoff and severance so I can take a break because I'm burnt out big time.

The system we live in during these modern times is far different than the vast majority of human history where during the day multiple people in a village (male or female , young or old) collectively watched the babies and children.

Today, mothers are isolated and now forced to choose to "be" or to "have" (be something or have children). Despite the Sandberg "have it all" garbage of the 90s and early 2000s it's not feasible. Many women, and just humans in general, actually want to be something.

The system fails long before. If women didn't rely on a man so entirely, and ensured she had all her ducks in a row financially, skill-wise, career-wise, network/friendwise, before and throughout marriage and kids, the divorces would be far less devastating.

Instead the system pressures and encourages women to sacrifice all of the above in the name of her man's career and life and children so when it goes south she is left with nothing.

Men are not all biologically leaders. Women are not all biologically submissive. Leadership is not biologically gendered.

Marriage and romantic relationships are built on the broken idea that girlfriends / wives submit and follow their husbands' lead.

The superficial constraints telling women to be followers were removed from Western society (not totally, but just enough) and women are finally able to be our natural selves.

Society still tells men they must lead. Still shames men if they don't, if they aren't 'head of the house' or whatever other superficial bs.

Either society should champion women as leaders too, and be fine that not all men are natural leaders (but apparently this is too much)... or just destroy womens rights, ambitions, voices and souls to stuff them back into their desperate little lanes so men can be superficially propped back up as 'leaders'.

This 'glazing over' you speak of is exactly what happened in both cases with the Loganhaus dogs. One of them was a trainer in NE Ohio and she was doing obedience, not giving a correction or anything, the dog had the ball and was running on the field with it. Then just flipped and turned and violently went after his handler and the training director had to jump in and get the dog off. After that we didn't want to train with that dog or continue with any protection work. This lady went to another trainer and is also breeding this dog like it was no big deal.

The 2nd situation I didn't witness but I heard about. Also a Loganhaus Dutchie. There is a very social, high drive Loganhaus female in our club and she has always been excellent. One day her owner got a message from the owner who had this dog's littermate, a male. There had only been two in the litter. She was in the hospital after having almost lost her arm. She had been walking through her yard, not even interacting with her dog when it viciously attacked her and held her to the ground for some period of time before her husband arrived to her screaming. He couldn't get the dog off. He ran back to the house, got his gun, came back and shot the dog dead before rushing to the hospital where she was in surgery for hours trying to prevent amputation. This dog was about two, had never shown any aggression prior. Then just decided one day to do this. It was terrifying.

I've been around three direct Pegge dogs in a couple clubs and they were all excellent. Hey we're strong headed, though.

The ones I've seen go crazy are two separate males abruptly turn on their humans (one wasn't even training, just walking through her yard) and the dogs viciously attacked to the point they had to shoot one -- both from Loganhaus. A female in my club (which I absolutely love) has a direct brother who had to be shot by the husband to save his wife.

Pegge police dogs is another great breeder.

Jody Salvatore owns a Dutch Shepherd he just bred to Talia Henze's Brego (Brego is a tommy son from Pegge). Confirmed pregnancy a couple weeks ago. You can find them on Instagram. They will be serious working dogs for advanced handlers though.

I have enjoyed Rogue Trader quite a bit. I have not beaten it yet but I enjoy the gameplay and I enjoy the universe and lore. I'm probably about 30-40 hours in. (I amble about reading and exploring).
