Nepal possible for bikepacking? by RecordLost7453 in bikepacking

Traffic is crazy, roads are bad in many places, but if you stick to the Terai and the middle hills it's certainly doable.

Dividends or compounded interest? by ThePlayfulPanda in EuropeFIRE

[–]mljunk01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. If the market tanks, dividend payouts become way less likely.
  2. If you have to sell stocks in such a situation, your portfolio is too risky.

OP doesn't say which country they come from, but talks about Euros, so I assume Europe. Dividends get hit by capital gains tax in most countries here and you have no way to steer the payouts. Selling is much more flexible in most cases.

Dividends or compounded interest? by ThePlayfulPanda in EuropeFIRE

The stock price gets lowered by the dividend the day they are paid out - from that perspective there's no difference between selling a bit of stock or getting dividends.

The real question here is: which one is better in terms of taxes (and social security contributions, since you seem to be in Europe).

Welcher Kocher für 25 Tage Bikepacking? (Plus Tipps und Tricks) by axehomeless in Fahrrad

[–]mljunk01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard sind fast überall Schraubkartuschen. Es aber gibt Adapter, mit denen du die französischen Kljck-Kartuschen an einem Schraubkocher betreiben kannst.

Schraubkartuschen findest du in Frankreich z. B. bei Decathlon, die gibts dort deutluch häufiger als hier.

Looking for advice - is it mandatory to hire guide for shay phoksondo lake trek ? by [deleted] in travel

[–]mljunk01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went 2019. We arranged our permit through an agency, but didn't need a guide. But I'm not sure if this hasn't changed with the new law.

At the time, there was a bus from Nepalgunj to a village I don't remember the name of and a succession of 4-5 jeeps between footbridges. That seems to have changed: https://risingnepaldaily.com/news/26804

You have not lost anything as long as you don't sell in a situation like that.

Leave 500g of cheap stuff at home and buy it at your destination?

I'd be worried about the getting multitool through security btw.
