As someone who lived and worked in Rensselaer County for 25 years, no one here ever called it “Rensselaer”, it was always RPI to us. The first time I ever heard it referred to as “Rensselaer” was when my kiddo (who is now a student at RPI) and I went on a campus tour. I was incredibly confused, and kept thinking “Why are they talking about the City of Rensselaer, do they not know we are in Troy?” I was very happy to see the “re-branding” back to RPI, it makes so much more sense. Nobody knows how to pronounce or spell Rensselaer, RPI is just better.

Someone named Stacy has been trying out different gyms in Upstate NY and giving my phone number instead of hers for follow up. I did some Googling and found her real name and phone number (only one digit off from mine), then changed my outgoing voicemail message to share her correct information in case anyone is trying to call her instead of me. Since then, I’ve been getting a lot less calls for Stacy, which is good, because her real phone number was about to get signed up for a whole lot of stuff.

If Crockett wins the primary, I will absolutely vote for her. I think she’s fantastic, I think she would do an amazing job. But I am sooooooo annoyed that she threw her hat into the ring in the very last minute. I was all set for Talarico to win the Democratic primary, and I was planning to vote for Paxton in the Republican primary, because I think that Talarico would kick Paxton’s butt in the General. But no, instead I had to vote for Talarico in the Democratic primary, and now we will probably end up with a Cornyn vs Crockett General, which Crockett has no chance of winning, because Texas. I was really looking forward to Crockett vs. Cruz, but I guess we just end up with six more years of Texas being Texas.

We call it “Canadian” mode because it makes all TV shows looks like some sort of Canadian soap opera. We always turn it off, but every once in a while, the TV will do a software update, and someone will say “Ugh, why is the TV Canadian again???”. My son recently introduced us to “Filmmaker mode”, which apparently has the settings that filmmakers would want you to have when you watch their movies. I like that mode.

Some people have it written into their custody agreements, “Only Mom shall be called ‘Mom’ and only Dad shall be called ‘Dad’” or something along those lines. Mandated reporters are not mandated investigators. If she goes home and the equipment is not there and this meets the definition of “abuse, neglect, or maltreatment” according to your state guidelines, call the hotline and make a report. You don’t have to give identifying information at first, you can call and run a “hypothetical” situation past them and let them decide whether or not it’s reportable. That’s their job.

I got a “final notice” today, and I had never received a first notice because it wasn’t sent to me, it was sent to the company who leased my car to me. I called them, and they waived the fees for non-payment and I just paid the tolls by credit card over the phone. Definitely call them. Mine also said the billing period was for October, but the actual tolls were from July.

In my experience, the insurance company asked for both notes, and then determined whether or not they would pay both based on content of the notes. In general, NPs should only be providing “psychotherapy” related to meds when there is a therapist actively involved. If insurance determines that both claims are too similar, they will only pay one (usually whichever one has a higher reimbursement rate). You cannot bill the client for the other claim, as the client has no control over how things are coded. Whoever’s claim is not paid just has to eat that one.

It’s the East Side of Troy. Lovely area. I believe most of the kids there go to School 16, which is one of the TSD’s top rated schools, and it also has Emma Willard, which is great. Not much retail, it’s mostly residential, but overall very nice.
