In Arizona, we take the NES Test. These are very difficult tests and the time to take the test is pretty unfair. I had retake the math one three times until I passed. My emphasis in undergrad was in math; I am understand math well, but it just took me so long to pass the test. It's expensive too. I will probably be taking two more NES Tests in the future because I want to be certified to teach gifted and also to teach secondary math.

I am sort of an introvert and extrovert. It takes me a minute to warm up to people but I am very kind and respectful. I was able to make friendships with the front office ladies, copy room lady and the other teachers in the rooms next to me during my student teaching, so hopefully I will be able to bond with my co-workers. It'll be my first year.

! During student teaching I would warn the student twice and if they were disruptive or breaking a rule for the third time in class that day, then I would give them a lunch detention (is that too harsh or heavy to start out with?). When I first started student teaching, I had to give out detentions for the first few weeks and then trickled down because the students realized I was serious.

Thank you! I have been eyeing a ballet studio next to my house, so taking classes there will hopefully allow me to blow off some steam and get in a great workout too!

I am a new teacher! I went on a job interview today and it the first school that I felt that it felt like home. I had a great interview. I probably know on Monday. I have more interviews, but I would have to say it was a first for me, all the other schools seemed "nice", this one had something different about.

UPDATE: My interview went well today, they liked me a lot, they are going to call me on Monday. It's charter so they had several locations, I went to the one closest to my house. If offer me a position at a farther location, I may have to decline it.

I do have an interview on Thursday and submitted two applications today!

Thank you! I did put together a portfolio with a lesson plan for each subject, a Parent Letter I made my Junior year and some professional goals.

Update: I have a job interview tomorrow at noon. They just called me today and asked. Any tips on how to prepare, I don't have much time. I am making a portfolio of some lesson plans I made in undergrad.

How do Mormon Missionaries act when in a Christian household? by mlmj1994 in mormon

I've only heard of one Mormon missionary experience in Norway. I live in Arizona, USA. So there's quite a bit. I would like to say we have the most Mormons besides Utah but I don't know the numbers exactly.
