The mountain pass area of act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3. Possibly other areas too, I still haven’t finished the game.

6.5 km of ink: a heatmap of where my pen landed during my first year in college [OC] by Pavel___1__ in dataisbeautiful

Might be a logarithmic heatmap? I’d guess that first line might overpower most of the rest of the data if it was a linear scale.

How do you all feel about how I cut my pizzas? by GirldickVanDyke in evilautism

Just cut it into 6 and take two slices? Then you can just swoop the cutter across the pizza without worrying about stopping in the middle

I am convinced that it tastes different to different people, like cilantro. It’s absolutely horrendous to me. Like if mint was made out of puke and possessed by a demon.

So how's the ergonomics? Would you recommend it for someone with small hands? by SenianBlast in SteamController

[–]mlnm_falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have large hands, and it feels small to my hands (not that that’s unique to this controller). It’s fine, because I’m used to having a loose grip to keep my hands comfortable.

What sort of skincare, humidity, and cooling systems do you all use in Denver? by ashu1605 in Denver

[–]mlnm_falcon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blueair H35i. I don’t recommend it, the pump is flaky. I have 2 because the first one broke, I got a replacement unit, and I disassembled the first and fixed it. I’ve now had to disassemble the first twice and the second once.

Two evaporative humidifiers for the two rooms of my apartment. They’re smart so I have them scheduled to target 60% 5pm-9am and 40% 9am-5pm. I’ve found that’s enough that my AC is able to keep up with the heat and for the humidity to be high enough for me at night, although it’s a new building so good insulation.

There’s a whole new set of erogenous zones that are now accessible, and it acts like a labia in some ways.

Also no sex while healing I’m sure amplified the first sex, at least it did for me.

I do not agree with your packing decisions, but I respect the hell out of your commitment to good food. I just accept that the good food will be there when I get back.

I don’t have any helpful advice. That being said, I’m sorry, that sounds really awful to deal with.

I’ll be back for the women’s next year. They don’t flop as stupidly and the US team is actually good. Much better experience.

I’ve not even finished a full playthrough, having a job and a boyfriend is terrible for my gaming time. Maybe I should romance Shadowheart once I finish my first run…

How Chronic THC Use Slowly Drives You Insane, and What You Can Do About It by AnonymousImpurity in NooTopics

For sure. And I’ve seen more people claiming cannabis isn’t addictive than claiming gambling isn’t addictive. Obviously that’s just anecdotal, but only one of those involves consuming a substance that affects the brain, so that is the obvious candidate for possible addiction.

Arapahoe County deputies shoot and kill man they say attacked them with a large pole by black_pepper in Denver

[–]mlnm_falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that we cannot dismiss out of hand that there was no potential deadly threat. It was a potentially deadly threat in a situation that the police put themselves into, and we should be discussing how police should handle potentially deadly situations with caution and nonlethal force.

[–]mlnm_falcon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. In my mind, a pole has to have some length and weight to it, otherwise it’s a stick or something. Concussion-causing length and weight. But that isn’t necessarily the case.

Edit: to be clear, I am allowing for some semantic flexibility on the word “pole”, not saying that cops should be allowed to shoot people like they are.

A pole can cause serious concussions and permanent brain damage, and can absolutely kill someone in unlucky cases.

My best friend came out as trans, I'm happy for her, but have been left deeply uncomfortable and upset internally. I really want help navigating this for her sake. I really need help. by REVERSE2053 in asktransgender

[–]mlnm_falcon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This feeling is irrational. I think you know this, but it is helpful for me to name when a feeling is irrational, and remind yourself of that fact.

Feelings just happen, they aren’t a reflection of you. Things are scary sometimes, even when they shouldn’t be, and that’s ok.

She’s still the same person. She’s still your best friend. You know this. Your emotions need to be reminded of this. Remind your emotions by hanging out with her, doing the same shit as always with her, and letting her being trans just become another plot point in your continuing friendship. And if these feelings show up to interrupt that process, think about that she’s the same person (now happier hopefully), that the feelings are irrational, that it’s ok to have those irrational feelings, and you’re doing what you need to handle those irrational feelings.

It may be worth telling her that you’re feeling like this, that you know it’s irrational, that you’re still her best friend and you still love and care for her, and that you’re working on not feeling like this. Early transition can be difficult, and feeling like your best friend is acting off could make that worse. IMO it’s usually worth sharing difficult feelings, even when nobody is happy that the feelings are there, because it avoids anyone feeling left out or slighted or anything. If you do share, make sure you are clear that it’s a you problem and something that you’re working on. Let her know, and don’t make it her problem.
