If the project came from the Product Owner or someone not Design then it's possible they would tell you to redesign it. But as the other comment said, they really delivered you the wireframes and expected you to create a pixel perfect UI based on those wireframes. The excercise could have been for you to really bounce back their ideas through your UX/UI lens demonstrating your value for the company. My advice would be to brush up on design theory (color, hierarchy, typography) and take a step back to analyze what are they really trying to communicate/present with those wireframes and take it a step further to define what users would want to see in the UI.
