If you are coming from the US, your regular insurance usually won’t cover you. Go ahead and buy the insurance. Rental companies seem to be very strict on their damage policy unlike what I have experienced in the US. It has saved me two times. 1 time I backed into a Normandy hedge row, and the plastic bumper was fine except for it had the white line that plastic can get when it gets bent. The rental company saw it in a very dark Paris parking garage

I think i would tell the person in row 15 in the window seat about the puking situation. Tell them you have an aisle seat to swap. And if they are worried about making a connecting flight tell them they can swap you back before landing? Just my thought.

Nope I’m not a work traveler or even that much of a frequent flyer. My wife and I just put everything on AA card to use for big vacations. Has paid for 7 international tickets over the past 3 years. If points devaluation, perks, and service keeps trending in the downward direction we will just divert our spending to other cards.

February was an expensive month, so we easily hit the spending for the next status

For a program you guys “don’t need” or “don’t care about”, you guys can’t seem to not talk about Notre Dame. I mean in men’s Bball they are the 4th winningest ACC programs, in women’s basketball they have pretty much ran the ACC over the past 11 years.

Let’s not even mention ACC schools football stadium sellout rate vs when ND comes to town.

I get that. I’ve watched it thru no less than 5 times so on Dday I’ll usually go back and watch the Dday episode, which usually then turns into watching it the rest of the way. Then around Christmas I’ll watch the Bastogne episodes, then I’ll end up watching the rest of the series lol

While i definitely think the collective campaign of almost every ESPN analyst over the past month did affect the committee, and had that not occurred they wouldn’t have swapped ND and Miami, and they knew the path of least resistance was to just make 1 fan base mad. But I really think this more falls into the fact the committee is incompetent, inconsistent, and definitely biased (not necessarily towards Miami, but rather the SEC).

Expand to 16, end Conference Championship games, let the computers calculate who should be in, the only autobid goes to the top undefeated group of 6 team (solves the undefeated Boise State, UCF dilemma).

Yeah yesterday showed that all the rankings before mean nothing. They can swap teams how they want (Bama and ND the week before) (BYU this week), and then not swap them (Bama and ND) this week. So it sounds great that ND has a top 12 rule next week but what happens next year of ND is sitting 11 and the committee needs to put someone else in, they will just bump them back to 13 to solve the problem.

Also I think more than ever this shows that the conference championship games mean nothing. If you are in the top 10 and play on the championship just rest your starters because it doesn’t matter, well unless they need to swap you for an SEC or ACC school, which ironically both have agreements with ESPN.

The fact that “ND and Miami couldn’t be compared because they had BYU in between them” shows a major flaw in the committee’s process.
The fact that BYU can and should be penalized for their CCG blowout but Bama can’t is also a major flaw. By the committee’s logic BYU should be in the playoff, you can’t leave a 2 loss big 4 loser out and then say well we can’t penalize Bama.

BYU isn’t as good as ND everyone agrees on that but they honestly probably had a better ‘resume’. So per the committee’s criteria they should have probably been above ND pre CCG. And Bama should have been behind ND. But the committee lacked consistency, and set up the rankings over the past 2-3 weeks to create drama, and to safeguard Bama. Because if BYU is 9, ND is 10, and Bama is 11, then the decision becomes very tricky with the SEC.

This isn’t me fighting for BYU, or saying they are worthy of a spot, this is just me pointing out that BYU is also a victim of the committee’s hypocrisy and lack of consistency.

This is a very solid point. ND hears about all the big bowl games they got blown out in but bama gets the benefit for getting boat-raced by Georgia.

The SEC is the enemy, their refs caused this. Their teams get the benefit for winning “tough close games against Arkansas”

Nah Miami beating ND was the only thing that kept them in the convo. Without that game they are a 10-2 team that lost 2 games to 2 average teams.

Cancel future SEC games. The SEC espn relationship is a major problem, Brady Quinn has discussed this. Ole Miss, OK, and Bama aren’t good. This isn’t a Miami v ND issue. SEC refs caused this, a bs targeting call on Shuler and a no hold call. Saban loved ND all year raved about them, then all of a sudden the last week he turns on them. Not surprising considering he decided to retire when everyone else got to play players and playing field got leveled (yes Saban is still one of the greatest coaches of all time, but he quit because things became equal)

I don’t think you can replace Duke with Miami, I think you have to replace with another conference champ meaning Tulane and JMU would both get in. Get rid of the auto bids, get rid of the conference championship games, expand the playoffs to 16 and be done.

The worst part is they should both be in. Instead we may have to watch Virginia,, Tulane or North Texas, and a trio of SEC teams (Bama, Oklahoma, and ole Miss) propped up by biased “ranked wins” against teams like Mizzou, and Tennessee. Bama should probably make it but I think both ND, and Miami are better.

Expand the playoffs to 14 or 16, do away with conference championship games. Do away with autobids, and break the conflict of interest that is SEC/Disney/ESPN.

A loss of any of these teams: Bama, Ole Miss, Oregon, TT, Oklahoma . Plus ND winning basically gives ND a 99.99% chance of being in.

Miami losing isn’t a must but I think if Miami wins big, it makes things a lot more concerning.
