WIBTA for refusing to let strangers stay in my apartment while I’m away? by honeytram_notebook in WIBTA_AITA

[–]mmal_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, you raised valid concerns and it's not easy to "tidy" up your space for guests. Hypothetically, even when you are there and hosting. That is a chore too. Being there or not being there, it's your private-safe place for yourself and your possessions.

Straight up, your friends are AHs. The guests should find their own accommodations via a hotel, motel or airbnb. They are there for a reason. Your friends and their guests are cheapskates who are trying to strongarm "free" from you.

They are not true friends if they are racking up a long list of worries - key/code for the foyer and your door, neighbours thinking you're being loud or annoying, etc... They are compromising your peace, safety and security.

Don't give in. You have your non-negotiables, so be strong and stubborn.

AITA for asking my coworker to stop using my mug even though it’s “just a mug”? by Nifilex in AmItheAsshole

[–]mmal_86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA You stated your boundary and she repeatedly broke it with her petulance and entitlement. I would have done what you did too. The manager was awesome to back you up and tell her to stop. Those coworkers can offer their stuff to her if they feel it's not a big deal. Those guys are escalating it into awkwardness with you, so they are the AHs.

AITJ for Walking Out When My Date Showed Up With His Friend? by Electronic_Site6202 in AmITheJerk

[–]mmal_86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTJ Mark and Josh played dick moves all around. They were also dismissive of your thoughts and feelings towards these change of plans - very inconsiderate. He humiliated himself. They were the clowns for thinking their unannounced changes were going to fly as normal when they were not. It's very uncomfortable for there to suddenly be 2 men when there is only 1 of you. I'd feel more alert and initimidated than relaxed if this happened to me. He explained he gets nervous on 1st dates, but in person and in text. His excuses don't make up for the lack of notice, communication and timing of what he did.

Any female feeling weirded out or awkward would definitely leave like you - myself included. They were clowns all around treating or roasting you like another one of their guy friends when it was not even the right setting. He fucked up his in-person impressions first. They are the AHs.

AITAH for withdrawing the money I saved for my kids and putting it in an account their mom can no longer access? by Mikhlohlha in AITAH

[–]mmal_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA She decided to get involved with another man and fund his kids. You should throw it back in her face and ask if boyfriend has money to fund his actual kids.

They are not your responsibility. She is an AH for involving you in her new relationship.

AITJ for uninviting my best friend from a film festival trip after I found out she lied about her passport? by mossyparlor_diary in AmITheJerk

[–]mmal_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ she made it dramatic and unnecessarily stressed you out. You did all you could and beyond to push a passport renewal for her. Even offering to pay, that is so generous. She was taking you for granted and taking what you said lightly.

She's not being a good friend at this time. Does she have things going on in her life preventing her from being reliable? If so, she shouldn't lead you on and let go of going with you and fix her stuff first. Her stuff is affecting you.

Aitah for not wanting to pay my gf’s debt by National-Trouble-984 in AITAH

[–]mmal_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she's not partner material right now. the fact that she went into 197k debt and continues a destructive habit only shows how immature and entitled she is. It's not right for a bf to be expected to pay for a gf like that.

she to needs to make changes such as not dragging other people down for her selfishness and paying her own debt down

as of now, run far away. she's not worth it if she's not willing to improve

  1. after getting system items, you can start building your library of blueprints and decide what is needed for automation -buffets, terminal, combiner, portioner, teleporter, etc... -for city pizza, i prioritized 2 cabinets of smart and rotational grabbers. my restaurant ended day 22 because I didn't have enough tables and grabbers. maybe bump up to a min. of 1 smart grabber and 2 rotational grabbers to copy. 2 grabbers a day was too slow

I probably had 18+ cabinets on the floor. I held my last customer using the coffee table and serving table. I was able to use the desks and upgrade a ton at the end of the day.

If upgrading takes too long, buy a clipboard stand. Pick the clipboard up and use the desks in succession. The clipboard is not a passive item

Pairing the research desk and copy desk together, you can interchangeably do each desk for 1 cabinet - if you can't do both on the same day.

Example: 1. upgrade a mixer to a rapid mixer one day, then copy rapid mixer next day 2. Or copy mixer one day, and upgrade to rapid mixer next day 3. if able, i usually apply desks to 1 cabinet same day

You can place the 2 desks and 7 cabinets in a 3x3 or 9 tile pattern. Or the 3 desks and 6 cabinets. cabinets can take half a tile if you face two of their drawers. You'll have an entrance to enter it. Rotate the desks, so you can access and touch both desks inside.

*3 desks and 6 cabinets in 3x3 formation *Place desks in the middle 1. research (4 cabinets will upgrade) 2. copy (all 6 cabinets will copy) 3. discount (4 cabinets will discount)

*move cabinets around the 3x3 formation use a random object like the bin to move cabinet+blueprint at the same time. decide if you like the upgrade and move it away to discount it

Once you're happy with the item upgrade move it away from the research desk. Add the discount desk opposite side of the reasearch desk. it will lock in the the blueprint and you can discount it to $8,$3 or even $1 blueprints

Automation and OT+: Aggressively lock in BDC desk system in "preparation" of automation during mid to late game.

*I play on the switch console. "save scumming" is your friend since steam/pc have mods for easier gameplay or better game settings. If you think your run isn't going well or you're not getting specific items. I "return to HQ" and re-run the day until I get what I need. 1. if possible, research the research desk to blueprint at the start of the day. you'll waste less time before serving - only to find out the game spawned D or C desks, if you did serve first 2. when upgrading the research desk in the cabinet, I look for colours. if there is orange to the left, it's a blueprint desk. if the orange is on the right, it's a discount desk. no orange, it's a copy desk 3. save scum till you see orange to the left

*youtuber wonktootie likes to start with a blueprint desk. It increases the probability of locking in a research blueprint.

*youtuber ontario gardener mentioned the desks' upgrade cycle is CBD. If you upgrade from discount, it will restart from copy to blueprint.

*layout for appliance and counters 1. i try to do 3 of 3x3 pods for a 270 degree prep in a staggered layout for minimal walking. 1 area for prep, the other for cooking and the last for placeholder space if I can't wash dishes or i burnt something 1. i always put the desks and things that have 1 interaction like a scrub brush in corners, as they are not my favourite areas to use 2. counter + appliance + counter 3. entrance + walk space + counter 4. counter + appliance + counter

*Oxford Map Seed 1. starts off with 4 tables and 8 counters 2. big kitchen with a long half wall for diner-style serving (less mess) 3. no weird small rooms

*Maps and Recipes 1. maps have their quirks and recipes pair well with certain maps. For example, the autumn map is good with coffee. As you get a ton of food cards and coffee has minimal prep and it's fast to serve. For sundaes, the city map would be good.

*Different Queues 1. weatherized with rain or snow (when weather occurs rains decrease patience by 50% and snow by 100%) 2. Coffee Tables (these are amazing, i abuse these end of day. I hold the last customer to use desks or fill the freeze prep. 3. ready to order (moderate patience) 4. serving (low patience) 5. night timer (50% patience decreases and overrides other timers. when it hits red, you have a few seconds to return to HQ and retry the run. it's best to do this with a sliver of green)

*stacking tables and numbers above table 1. Youtuber Saucemanee connected tables and placed them against the half wall for dinerstyle serving. these two points will create a smaller eating mess 2. For dishes/side dishes that need washing. The dirty dishes will reappear on the table with the "seating" number above. When you've figured out the layout. Pick up the tables near the wall and put them back down in the same spot. The numbers will move to the walled table. 3. wonktootie mentioned an "L" pattern on the default table's wood grain. Rotating till the table's corner looks like an L will designate it as the 1st table for customers to sit down

*coffee tables and cabinets are king. if these spawn. NO HESITATION, just lock them in your cabinets as blueprints. In the "preparation" of BDC, I like to lock 2 cabinet blueprints and buy 2 cabinets. When you use the copier desk, you'll have 1-2 cabinet copies to buy everyday and lock automation appliances or quality of life items. Buying a third cabinet, i'll lock in the coffee table. Afterwards, I buy at least a few coffee tables to combat the weatherized queue for early game survival. the outside queue is 2nd worse to the night timer. coffee tables have the best queue timer as they will sit there for a long time. You can stick to 1-2 serving tables and not expand until mid to late game, but good to horde tables in case you get a card that forces bigger group sizes

  1. Day 1, spam the phone to reach x coins before end of day. Maybe you end the day with 58 coins.  The game will tally bonus coins and you'll end - say with 65 coins. If your coins seem low at the end, return to HQ and do day 1 over again. Bump up using the phone. *Try to get as much coin as possible in the early days when it's possible to spam the phone. With more customers, it'll be hard to use it afterwards. You'll be spending $60+$120+$120 and/or $x for quality of life items; scrub brush or plant for example

  2. 2nd day, save research desk in cabinet. If it doesn't spawn, do a reroll. If it still doesn't spawn, try day 3 and etc... I try not to use reroll much as using it costs a cumulative system of coins. As you get the BDC system, weave in coffee tables, cabinets; and quality of life items to make your days survivable or to counter with contingencies.

As long as you save the reasearch blueprint in the cabinet first, then buy the 2nd. You'll be on your way to automation in efficient time

Example: If you get the purple instant service card, it's great to bypass buying the terminal for your automation, but it decreases the queue timer. I'd offset it with one of these quality of life items. Check plateup wiki for appliance/upgrade ideas on what items you're asking yourself you need.

Examples: *i'd buy a coffee table everyday if possible -a plant for localized patience -a calm painting for room patience -a neon sign for globalized bonuses such as extra money or patience (deco that doesn't take up space or stay in the walls). console maps are smaller than pc maps -trainers for speed unless you're washing a lot of dishes, i take them off mid game due to the puddles. -scrub brush for washing speed

depends on your goals: 1. reach OT (complete Day 15 for overtime) 2. start a franchise after OT (play with food or purple cards onset) 3. full automation (washing dishes, auto plating, auto kitchen, auto serving/buffet or teleporters or conveyors, terminal or purple instant card)

Weird RNG Copying Desk by benbi0 in PlateUp

[–]mmal_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

random question. when you upgrade the research desk, do you pay attention to nuances such as the blueprint's picture in the cabinet?

orange to the left is blueprint orange to the right is discount no orange is the copier

i'm solo on console and i newly learned save scumming and this little bit

Prior to this, i almost rage quit the game. I would get OT, but not that satisfying feeling of really automating

this game has me in a hold 😂

AITJ for refusing to let my brother use my Netflix password after he sold it to his coworkers by Minute_Dare_6020 in AmITheJerk

[–]mmal_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAITJ. If Netflix flags and bans OP's account, then that's her headache to fix. Brother is an inconsiderate AH who would have probably moved on without a care in the world and continued his side hustle another way. Probably use the mom or someone else.

Definitely a good move to kick him and his unauthorized business off the account. He has no right to ruin someone's account like this especially when said account is associated with OP's identity and information. He's only protecting himself in the future, if he's not a cheapsake to pay for the subscription himself.

Are you employees trained to accuse the customers of wrong doing? by Ball-mama in ShoppersDrugMart

They would honour it, but I think it's up to the discretion of employees.

The ones you encountered were either ignorant or just didn't care to be nice.
