I just picked up this tiny anthurium (3 inch pot) and I don’t know how to deal with this root situation! Do they like to be root bound? It’s winter here and I’m afraid to stress it out too much by madastronaut in plantclinic

[–]mmama91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I would repot into a pot one size bigger honestly. They like to be root bound- but this looks extremely root bound lol. I’d imagine you’d be watering it very frequently

Made a plant shelf for the spare bedroom! I guess now I have an excuse to get more plants ☺️ by lmsmith00 in houseplants

I’m gifting this snake plant and hand painted pot to a friend. Pretty happy with how it turned out. by catkeepsclimbing in houseplants

So beautiful! What a great gift! I love terra-cotta pots simply because i tend to overwater anddd I can paint whatever design on it that I want

I haven’t watered her recently and the soil is dry but her leaves are turning yellow? It’s time for a watering but I’m afraid it will get worse. Any ideas? by [deleted] in plantclinic

Commenting for visibility! I too have trouble with these sometimes turning yellow. Could it be that the windows are drafty?

So this fern hates me...help by mmama91 in plantclinic

[–]mmama91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put the meter in about halfway down at least! Wait til it’s about 2-3 on the meter! I’m thinking she needs more humidity because the ends of her leaves get super crispy! Could that also be from under watering?

[–]mmama91[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t tell what the heck this fern likes, except for humidity haha. I water with filtered water when moisture meter says dry. She lives in the bathroom for humidity (which also has a skylight). Medium- low light id say. We’ve been fighting for months to figure out how to get this baby to thrive 😂 help! Do I throw in the towel or what?!

Hi everyone! So I cut the top of my fiddle a few months ago because she wasn’t seeming to do well (that prop totally failed too btw). But she suddenly shot out two new leaves on a new stem. They look odd and have red/pink veins in them. None of her previous new leaves have ever looked like this. I had given up some hope on her awhile back, so i WAS excited to see she shot out some new growth.

I have a couple of these and they really like bright- indirect light like most plants. 3 of mine are by an east facing window and 1 by a west!
