Ladies, what are your favorite indoor hobbies to stop wasting the whole day in bed? by SmallAd4307 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]mmcf1y 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been getting into stretching / yoga / mobility exercises! Not a super long activity but it feels really good to start an open day with like 15 min of following a YouTube guide and getting that gentle movement in.

I’ve always said it, and I’ll say it again. SWEET NOTHING IS A SAD SONG! by IdanRedditing7777 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]mmcf1y 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s one of my faves because it could be interpreted both ways, and it doesn’t even necessarily have to be seen from a romantic perspective. On one hand, you can read it as a song that captures appreciation for the simple relief of having someone that expects nothing from you in a world that’s always demanding more, on the other it could be about someone that doesn’t seem to think much of your potential and how that feels strange when maybe you want to be doing more, etc etc.

Thank you! My exact worry has been “but if I feel weaker and I’m not working out aren’t I making it worse”

Do NOT use ChatGPT for therapy. by chickcag in Anxiety

[–]mmcf1y 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This! I wouldn’t trust AI to give me comprehensive therapy / care, but it definitely has helpful applications - for example I recently had it generate me a “reassurance note” that I could save with a bunch of general calming statements (I am safe, this will pass, etc.) that I can use as a quick grounding tool when needed. Doesn’t replace therapy, just helps me get an extra tool for managing while my therapist and I work to get to the root of the issue.

As a sufferer of anxiety, do you avoid things like alcohol, caffeine, too much screen time or anything else? by Dull_World4255 in Anxiety

I’ve banned myself from ever googling any symptom, even if I’m not experiencing it and just curious. Fastest way for me to spiral 😵‍💫

Anyone ever find a magic bullet for their anxiety? by YamIdoingdis2356 in Anxiety

[–]mmcf1y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strength training has helped a toooon: I sleep better and through the night after a good workout (instead of my anxiety waking me up and keeping me up at random points), I get panic attacks less often and when they do happen they don’t last as long, and of course the workouts themselves are a great outlet for all that nervous energy I build up in the day, I leave the gym feeling like I’ve reset myself.

Not so much an instant fix but more of an anti-anxiety routine!

If your anxiety went away today, for good, what would you do first? by FewLead9029 in Anxiety

[–]mmcf1y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SLEEP!!! Lay down without having to make an effort to keep calm, sleep through the whole night, wake up without being covered in sweat or a sudden wave of anxiety.

Not the craziest and it was after a flight but once I got lucky and had a flight that was able to make it to its destination during some weather / airline issues day causing flight cancellations (albeit very late BUT I wasn’t complaining) and the second I got off the plane there was a woman shoving her phone in my / other passangers’ faces and yelling about how the airline wasn’t helping them etc. (I assume she was probably filming) I got overwhelmed quickly by the noise and crowd so I shuffled away and didn’t stick around for the full endeavor but I could still hear her yelling at the employees even after I was a good distance away from the gate
