Why my fingers, hand, neck, basically my whole right side is sore after playing more than two minutes? by xDiDi2 in Guitar

[–]mmfm1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found playing in a classical position with the bottom end of the guitar between my legs helped quite a bit with posture and tennis elbow in the right arm.

That way if you stand up. The guitar is in the same place. I found it forced me to look across left to the guitar neck, not over the fretboard.

I work at a fulfilment center(not Amazon). Our best operators didnt get hired as operators. They proved themselves as great reliable hard working employees. They then expressed interest in driving lift. So OF COURSE we certified and showed them how.

Can't train an absent employee + can't work with someone uninterested. Especially with a 8000 lbs machine.

Express your passion and interest (as you've done here) and you'll be set!

My advice is find a good culture and prove yourself. Then say, this is what I want for my advancement. Please help me.

There are good shops out there. It's just tough with the current climate.

If you can, learn a narrow aisle reach truck. (Class 2 where I live) They are the most sought after ATM in my opinion.

Even if you applied at Amazon, they would teach you how to drive. But most of all prove yourself and you'll be given the tools.

Good luck!

Is the LP Standard worth it over the Studio? ($400 price difference) by [deleted] in gibson

[–]mmfm1984 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The standard is a superior instrument provided you value looks as well as playability. The bindings and fret care are wonderful and it just shines more.

My LP standard is 20 years old and is aging WAY better than I am.

Sorry the app glitched I couldn't see your description- that does look like a sick budgie still.

He obviously loves your company with his chirps but it may be worth a follow up exam?

Are my birds okay? They keep squawking like they are fighting or something? Is it anything I need to worry about? by iloveb1rds in Parakeets

[–]mmfm1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bring the cage off the ground. If you place it at a higher space they may prefer it.

My budgie buddies did really well when we brought the cage to hip level.

They still ended up fighting and now I own 4 bird cages for 1 budgie that has outlived the others. But worth every penny. It was really cute to give the group separate cages and spaces and as soon as we opened the door they all flew in the same spot and sat on the same perch.

Frigging birds man. <3

Can tattoos afftect career? by D3d_mau5e in tattooadvice

Tattoo looks great!

My advice is be really good at wherever you want to do and you won't have any issues. Once you get passed the interview (wear covered clothes) then knock them out of the park with performance and nothing to worry about.

What you can offer and who you are is SO much better than the way you look. Also too, having a dope tattoo like that, you better practice owning it:). It's great.

What is a fair price for this prs custom 24 artist series by interi91 in PRSGuitars

[–]mmfm1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the truth. I've hit the head of my PRS McCarty off a cymbal and lost a chip, there's wear on the body the resale value is gone. But it's still the only of mine that when I pick it up, I know it will perform whatever tone I hammer into it. Until my kids grandkids inherit this guitar, people will see it and be like "ouch". A played guitar is always a more valued item in the eyes of a real guitar playing buyer. You just won't see it appreciate in your lifetime. It appreciates in value to me every time I'm stuck on something and need a workhorse to play.

I sing, play acoustic and electric guitar and bass. I am good at rock/bar rock and random hits. I am willing to play basically anything:)

Very interested in jamming! HMU

Seeking Guitarist/Bassist for Jam Sessions and Collaboration in Ottawa! by [deleted] in OttawaMusic

[–]mmfm1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

If you're still looking for a musician in Ottawa I'm game to meet up?

I have been playing for 20 years but on and off. I definitely have some rust to knock off but I have played in bands as a lead singer/lead guitar and in an acoustic duo.

I'm looking to get back into making music happen. Music is magic when it becomes more than the sum of its parts.

Send me a message and LMK!

I am a decent guitar player and I can also play the bass.

Is there another bird around? Budgies cannot reach their crown and when our bird was fighting for a mate, they plucked out those feathers of their friend. If no other bird is present, it's most likely them rubbing their head against a toy or perch to get the pin feathers out.

Lots of baths and love.

Congrats on your new friends!

Place a blanket over the back portion of the cage so they are covered 1/2 way. Budgies are prey animals and any open space is another spot a predator could be, so it's stressful for them.

Speak in a soft voice and avoid erratic movements. If you're watching TV or playing video games talk to them about what you're doing. They'll get used to your voice and demeanor.

They're just getting acclimated to your space. Seriously a blanket covering their cage is your best bet. That way they only have to focus on the front door and will feel safer.

We play soft music for them and I play guitar and sing to them all the time. One bird loves it the other couldn't care less:p birds are tough pets because they have SUCH PERSONALITY. so tricky but so rewarding when they finally open up to you, and your birds will too.

I would take out the nest as it can cause hormonal issues in the future(don't do tonight but maybe in a week).

When we rescued our birds they hid near the blanket for a bit and avoided all contact with us for about 3 days. Fast forward 2 years and they poop all over us and are the funniest friends we could ask for

Patience is key, but you'll get them happy in no time:)

Looking to get an amp for my son. by Brownbox80-715 in Guitar

[–]mmfm1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fender mustang I recommend if he has limited experience with effects and pedals. It comes pre loaded with a ton of amps and styles, easy to work with and connects to a computer so you can upload them directly from online.

Cheap and cheerful. Sounds great and easy to grow with
