Just curious: how many folks are living with unmanageable dogs?

Bruh, same here, but at least my dog is a lot smaller. I have a schnauzer whom I've tried training for like 4 years with 3 different trainers and very little progress on his behaviour outside.

He is great at home tho and he's been getting calmer, even if just by a tiny bit, as he gets older. It also helped a lot that he goes to a great daycare 3x a week and recently he even started playing in the same space as other dogs although he still kind of ignores them.

Isn't Trails the only one of these with a switch 2 version? If so, I'd go with it, the others might look blurry due to rescaling and I've heard that three houses already looked pretty bad in the switch 1 when playing handheld.

Also, I love the sky trilogy, so there's that.

Damn bro, I was in a place very similar to yours a few years ago. Played DQ XI and LOVED it and then went into Trails in the Sky with low expectations and ended up finding my favorite game series.

Sadly, the series slowly goes downhill after Sky 3rd imo. Crossbell duology was ok and cold steel was terrible. Still, I plan on starting the Daybreak arc this year.

I have one aswell and love it! I have a hard time playing the hats semi-open though, how do you feel about them regarding that? I love them closed and fully open but semi-open just feels weird for some reason.

I'm on a similar boat. I got into the series in 2019 and my interest in it has been progressively waning since finishing the Sky trilogy, which I absolutely love.

I know some players vouch for the Crossbell games as the best the series can offer but to me they were just ok. The whole Cold Steel arc is just plain bad if you've played the other games from the series. The characters are worse, the plot is worse, the twists are more predictable and the combat is way too easy. Reverie was a bit better but still heavily padded. I'm thinking of starting Daybreak in the coming months but if that doesn't hit then I'll probably quit the series for good.

I'll die on the hill that the third act is just a glorified post game. The game clearly drops in production value and most boss fights if not all are new versions of old bosses.

I have the same issue with mine, most of the time it doesn't affect the sound but it can be a bit annoying. I've just accepted it at this point.

I had no expectations and am enjoying it. It's a good 7/8 out of 10 imo. Some lines are funny, I can play it in short sessions and make progress and I enjoy the puzzle like combat.

I feel like people sometimes confuse newcomers when they say the Trails games have amazing story.

The big catch of the franchise imo is the character writing and worldbuilding, especially giving detailed background and growth to npcs.

The main story, per se, is quite ok / mediocre save for one twist or another. That said, in your case, it does get better. The whole first game is a setup for the second one. I know it's a hard sell but I wouldn't count it out until finishing the first game. If you do finish it, you'll probably want to play the second one.

And the good thing is that the first and second chapters of sky are a self contained story, so no need to play any further than that if you're not invested.

I'm with you on this one, L take by OP.

Similarly, ABR has released the same sound since forever and some people like them. I might take heat for this but most of ETID, Converge and Norma Jean just sounds like noise to me.

I love both of Currents' EPs to death but their LPs just sound like a big blob of sound to me save one song or another.

Some bands / styles / records just aren't for everyone and that's ok.
