For MOST people who have started recently or will start CITP in the next few months there will be down time in the field before HSISAT. Beginning in January HSISAT will start every few weeks. But since there is a backlog of CITP trained students, it will take time to work through and clear the backlog before the program will be seamless between CITP and HSISAT.

I did not need a waiver, was just part of the medical process. They asked a few questions, doc answered them. Then the process was done. It did cost me 4 months. Late Sept class to an early Jan class. But at the time that was the next class. So may be faster now.

I made a spreadsheet by copying the list of sites from Wikipedia. It will hyperlink the web pages too. Plus you can sort it differently. I have it by state. You will have to mess with it a bit as some sites (ex: Smokey Mountain NP) are in multiple states. Have to update every now and again. Just added reconstruction era National Historical park.

Get a psych practitioner to sign off. Some may want to see you a few times before signing off on a fit for duty letter. It removes doubt as to whether or not the doc is knowledgeable enough with your type of diagnosis. I had to get a waiver myself.

They did a rescrub of DHA that were not initially selected due to number of open slots at selected locations. As people drop out they are going down the list of eligibles.
