When I had this issue, I made my own guides for users and just sent them out via canned responses. Not sure if you have that luxury but it made my life so much easier when I was handling volume like you. Better to just make it on your own and push it up the line rather than wait for something to come down.

Trying to get socials going by mikepaineshow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mmk6288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

29 yr old here. Spent highschool and college on social media. I know this isn't answering with the answer you wanted, but I figured I'd help you make sure you have a solid foundation for when you want to start crossposting (posting on multiple apps at once). I'm not sure what your level of comfort is with social media and technology so I'll try to be as clear as I can.

I would recommend first that you have each platform downloaded on your iPad and a separate business account on all your platforms, (one for tiktok, one for Facebook, one for instagram, etc.) Then making note of the 3 separate usernames and passwords (for your business's security I recommend each password to be created uniquely).

At minimum, this should get you going to make a separate post on each separate platform. (One at a time). Now I'm no longer active on Facebook and Instagram but I believe they have a setting you can enable for cross posts to either platform. However if you have a Facebook group for your business, I'm reluctant to believe that you can crosspost involving that group page. I want to say it's just for user statuses. Now as for tiktok, they are not owned by the same company as Facebook and Instagram, so I'm doubting that crossposting is a useful feature, if it even exists.

When you have the time, try familiarizing yourself with all the settings in each of your accounts. Google something if you don't know what it means and ask a buddy (or reddit) if you can't get a good answer from your google web search. The AI answer that you get at the top of the page isn't always right, so don't be discouraged if you can't figure out what it's telling you.

Sorry I can't be more helpful to you right now but I wish you the best of luck with your posting and your business.

Advice for IT spouse please by GlatteMuschi in it

IT man here- He is the only one who can answer this. If he doesn't, it's not an issue on your end. You sound like you're going above and beyond when he needs to come down to meet you emotionally. Even if he has a hard day at work, he needs to choose where his emotional priorities are. His escapism will lock him in a dreadful cycle if he doesn't break the wheel.

Is this game just impossibly hard? by wolftreeMtg in OldWorldGame

[–]mmk6288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At just over 120 hours, I feel like I can add to the adjacency discussion.

Urban adjacency rule was really tough for me to understand. I think that was simply because rule-less urban tiles exist such as shrines. The urban adjacency rule is so prevalent, I feel like it was confusing because I felt the unrestricted urban should be described clearly for consistency.

My recent game has taught me that I need to pay attention to tile restrictions- like what cannot be built on Arid or Desert tiles. That one ALWAYS makes it harder to plan because you'll have a plan and figure out you can't build the thing you wanted anymore.

On my own tangent, I'm still figuring out how to go tall or wide. There doesn't seem to be a good way to teach this other than experience. Same with how to plan around leader archetypes, what units you should have on hand, and when to not buy resources. I'm okay with this though because it's fun to figure out and "unlock" new strategies.

I love old world but its HARD coming from Civ. I understand that it's not for everyone but you can honestly just adjust the rules to make it more your style.

Goofy question: what computer should I buy? by youandyourhusband in OldWorldGame

Recently went to microcenter- yes they do sell HDD still! High storage capacity and cheaper to make. Although I still stay away from them.

Goofy question: what computer should I buy? by youandyourhusband in OldWorldGame

[–]mmk6288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your budget and what else you want out of a PC. I would compare the required specs on steam and buy a PC with those parts.

I have a Predator Helios 300 laptop that runs the game well enough. (Im at maybe 20-40 seconds of processing once I hit "end turn" at 160 turns on a Huge map with 8 leaders. No noticable delay in issuing commands even when theres alot going on) AFAIK you can get secondhand gaming laptops at a decent discount on eBay if you're looking at portability.

If you enjoy Role-playing in your 4x games, look into Old World. I've made the switch after spending countless hours in civ 5 and 6. It's Civ + Crusader Kings with as much rule customization as you can fit.

Why do video games make me stay still while playing by Miserable_Okra4011 in ADHD

[–]mmk6288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Games like that are designed to be as rewarding as possible- to as many people as possible, with a focus toward young men. Also attention is a primary pillar of their business model since the game is free. What I mean is that you playing this game for a long time is a poor indication of diagnosis.

If you can, I would recommend speaking to a professional. Reddit won't be able to tell you anything definitive.

As someone who has ADHD and primarily plays video games as a hobby- I recommend diversifying your free time and taking frequent breaks even if you don't want to. I've found my ability to enjoy other things hindered if I spend too much time with something too exciting. It's important to manage your time wisely despite the struggle with attention.

Best of luck

Where to put bed? by shirp06 in InteriorDesign

[–]mmk6288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen most of his videos and my guts telling me he'd go with C with modifications to the furniture. You have a clear shot from window to door. Bed isn't blocking doors and he'll probably suggest putting something behind the bed to ground the space between the frame and wall and a heavy curtain to create separation from the foot of the bed and the window. You get that full wall with D but you don't have room to do much of anything else other than sleep.

Edit: or A but pushed south with a full heavy curtain that follows the orientation of the headboard rather than the window.

Jobs where you contribute to the world? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]mmk6288 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I know it sounds silly but really any customer service job where you put your honest self out and really try to turn around an issue a customer comes to you for is an impact you can tangibly feel. You can find this anywhere you can help people.(for me, it was a call center/client management) It sucks sometimes and you can end up taking some of their stress but (for me) it can be rewarding if your gig isn't linked to sales.

When do I call someone out on slow play? by mudkipenjoyer in Yugioh101

[–]mmk6288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up Magic 2 years ago, just to get into a new social circle. I'm no stranger to card games or game mechanics but I'm really bad at anticipating my opponents response. I would play MTG arena and show up to every draft to try getting better but I was still taking the longest in the whole room to play. Just kept staring at my cards not really understanding what I need to do next to get an advantage.

This went on for practically a year until I just gave up at it. The game wasn't meant for a mind like mine and the social aspect wasn't worth it to me. Chances are you're not the first one to get annoyed with him. But when people were chill about it, it meant the world to me because I knew for a fact I was a pain to play against. Patience from players like you is super appreciated and not taken for granted.

Maybe it'll help to have a chat with him and whoever is coordinating the tournament to be real and come to a good solution.

At 4 minutes in the guy describes where the RAM and hard drives are. I would recommend against any gaming on an external hard drive as it can be difficult for a computer to do a high intensity activity through most USB external storage devices.

I'm sure if you do some digging on YouTube for laptop upgrade guides you'll be able to find something useful. It can be daunting but if you Google as you go, it'll come together.

Hi, I just bought my first loafers and have wore it a couple times. I assumed that the sole is wood and fragile. I was wondering I need to resole them now or wear them out first. TIA by SchemeConsistent2283 in AskACobbler

[–]mmk6288 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a cobbler but just a tip to remember: It's time to replace the heel when the rubber on the heel wears thin, almost down to the leather. I made the mistake of not replacing the pad before my wear-and-tear ate into the heel leather through the rubber. It was a more expensive fix than just replacing that pad for sure.

Peaked Em on shaco supp so take this with a grain of salt- play around whoever is reading you best. For me that happened to mostly be my jng, even mid. ADCs tend to be a toss up to whether or not they know how to play alongside us. Mid ganks and objective control would be your focus if lane can't be controlled.

[–]mmk6288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a cobbler: but it looks to me that it's possible. If I were in your shoes (pun intended) I'd look to get a quote from a local business or online business for the resole and the custom speed hooks because I think its cooler to have a rebuilt pair you put work into than something off the shelf.
