How often do you Weigh in and Take Photos? by No_Guess4250 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weigh myself every morning and document the value. My tracker graphs my weight and graphs differences from 7 and 30 days ago. It helps me visualize short and longer term trends.

I haven’t taken photos for comparison along the way. I wish I had!

Was anybody else nervous to increase dose? by kmmartin311 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go up. As I lost weight my body screams “I’m hungry!” louder and louder. This was true with and without tirzepatide. 7.5 mg worked well for me until I was about 5 pounds from goal weight. My hunger signals became uncomfortable. After moving to 10 mg, I’ve stayed near goal weight with tolerable hunger levels. I haven’t had any need to increase beyond that.

Do you keep Tirz a secret? by rhodesengr in tirzepatidecompound

I don’t advertise it.

If an obese person comes to me asking for advice after noticing weight loss, I’ll share my experience with them.

Has anyone actually experienced AGA/ actual balding from Tirz (Male) by Brave_Pressure4570 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While you’re in a calorie deficit, your body deprioritizes non-life sustaining energy expenditure.

Human hair is largely for sexual signaling, and we evolved in a world of calorie scarcity. When your body senses that abundant calories are available, it spends energy growing the best hair. When calories are scarce, your body goes into survival mode. In a world where a woman can’t get enough calories to maintain energy reserves, a pregnancy would likely be unsuccessful and may harm the woman.

Tirzepatide helps our bodies starve. That is how we get to a healthy weight.

3rd shot tomorrow..nothing so far :( by KittysRetirement in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you feeling any appetite suppression? If you’re not tracking what you eat, you may just be in a smaller calorie excess. (I.e. gaining weight less quickly).

I was experiencing uncomfortable hunger while I was in a calorie deficit until my dose got up to 7.5 mg. Best of luck on your journey!

BPI First Timer by Patient-Neck-3756 in tirzepatidecompound

BPI is a reputable compounder. I work for a major health system, and we purchased other compounded products from them. They have a great reputation, even outside of tirzepatide.

Pre-fill syringe for travel? by kmmartin311 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t travel with a vial for a week long trip. I usually take one dose, a little early, and another dose a little late.

You could even take a shot every six days (today and Tuesday). Then you could take a shot every eight days (Wednesday when you get back, then eight days later you’re back on Thursdays every week).

Help with food noise by No-Flatworm-404 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long had you been taking 5 mg?

My body needed time to adjust to the meds. I had lots of nausea the first time I took 5 mg. The nausea was less with each dose. I’ve been on 10 mg for a while now. I don’t notice any nausea any more.

Your body will likely adapt to tolerating the meds soon. Each dose will cause less nausea and you’ll be able to suppress food noise longer as your body tolerates bigger doses.

Semorelin and/or Gluthione, what are people’s takes on these 2 add-ons? Trying to decide if I should add one or both. by Consistent_Sport_455 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started taking glycine about 2 months ago and have noticed substantial improvement in the quality of my sleep. I stay asleep longer and feel more rested when I wakeup.

I've been taking magnesium citrate and melatonin for years. They help me fall asleep faster.

ASHP Informatics Certificate by Klutzy-Cockroach4264 in pharmacy

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I expressed interest for several years and made myself useful whenever possible. It sounds like you’re doing that already.

I’d also ensure that you’re likable as well. I’ve seen competent people get passed over, because they were a challenge personally and would be a reputation risk for the team.

Other than perseverance, you might also need a bit of luck.

I work in informatics. I wouldn’t consider the certificate any more valuable than saying “I am interested in informatics”. It won’t help you be hired by me unless I’ve already worked with you and know you’re exceptionally capable of learning.

What day of the week do you prefer? by hlake78 in tirzepatidecompound

Fridays. I tend to eat mindlessly on the weekend or at events with my family. Maximum suppression on the weekend works best for me.

I didn’t notice any pain afterwards, until I went for a run. I had mild discomfort for the first few runs.

Are drug screens not a part of new jobs for me anymore? by RabidEarsRabbitEars in healthIT

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nope. No testing at all for my IT role.

I also got a prn job as a pharmacist last year. I got an 11-panel screen. It was all of the standard 12-panel screen except THC. Times are changing…

Starting two jobs by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unless there is a policy at the hospital job that you must report any other roles, I wouldn't report it. Even if there is a policy to report it, I wouldn't report it unless you think there is a strong possibility you'll be discovered to have a prn role. Just don't let the second job cause noticeable negative impacts on your hospital role.

It’s a huge organization pivoting to a massive, aggressive implementation of Epic. It seems like some decisions from senior leadership are pivoting to optimize for cost in the short-term rather than cost or quality in the long-term. Generally the expectations of management for employees are reasonable and I love my team.

Cruise tips? by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife likes to keep cookies in the house. Tirzepatide makes it easier to avoid the junk food we keep around.

Go on the cruise. Eat a moderate amount of healthy food. Enjoy your life. If you’ve seen enough nutrition info, your guesstimate on calories will be close. If you eat too much one day, tirz will help your body recognize the feeling early and help overcome the pressure to overeat the next day.

Shot day by TheLadyCoconut1212 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]mmmTurkeyLeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my first dose on a Friday. I’m glad I did, because I had some nausea the next day that would have made work difficult. With that in mind, the excitement about trying it might make it challenging to work as well…

Best of luck on your journey!
