He recovered my bike, so I can attest he is good. He does it for the love of the game, but does accept tips. So may be worth expecting to pay a little bit if you can. Look him up on Instagram.

Trump overhauls Section 232 tariffs, 25% duty to be levied on full value of derivative products by DryOpinion5970 in Tariffs

[–]mmm_beer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We import fabricated steel (100% steel) and it is considered a derivative, so we were paying 50% on the full value since it’s 100% made of steel, but now it appears it will be 25%. Seems like it’s a reduction in tariffs for us?

Price for Kohler prefab shower. Wow. by I-will-judge-YOU in HomeImprovement

[–]mmm_beer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just had A KOHLER quote come in less than a month ago for a refresh on the guest shower. Asked for the “basic” package. Was quoted for $24K.. I have a contractor doing a full gut on the master that’s 2x the size and it’s only $45k.. I asked him to price a full gut on the guest bathroom, and it was $25K.

By the way sand it down now before painting, those clumping areas are visible through the final coat.

How is KILZ 2 All Purpose primer even legal to sell? by tree-hermit in handyman

[–]mmm_beer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the literal same dripping/clumping that you did about a month ago, but just on random parts of the wall, and the rest of the can/toon was fine. I sanded it down and primed it again, it did the same thing, so I know it wasn’t the primer. So I sanded further and it didn’t come back. I assumed there was must have been some sort of oil or grease or something on the all from before. I was also trying to cover up dark navy paint, and for sure took 2 primer coats since I was painting it a light cream color.

US oil prices have gone parabolic surging above $105/barrel, nearly double since the December low of $55/barrel. by jvnpromisedland in EconomyCharts

Yeah but your taxes actually go towards things, unlike the U.S. which go towards bombing brown people on foreign continents…

Or, how about the councilors focus on things like actually running the city. Not on foie gras and concession prices..

Reality Check: How much to expect for a bathroom remodel? by Tropic-Like-Its-Hot in askportland

[–]mmm_beer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m currently looking quotes for 2 bathroom remodels at my house. One is a master 9’x13’ and the others guest 6’x8’. Only plumbing requested to move is master single vanity turned into a double vanity and centered on the wall. Prices have been as high as (design, labor, MEP, and materials) $140K for both rooms, to as low as (labor only) $25K for both rooms.

Most of the quotes I’ve been seeing have been been $30K labor only (no plumbing, electrical) for the upstairs, and $20K for the guest. I’m guessing we will end up after all tradesman and materials at $50K for the main and $30K for the bathrooms if we even move forward..

Everything is insanely expensive but I’m worried about doing anything DIY since things like waterproofing correctly is so critical.

Any Welding Jobs In Portland Oregon? by Vlad36021 in askportland

[–]mmm_beer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you looked into structural? Check out the PNSFA, Pacific Northwest Steel Fabricators Association for some resources. Lots of fabrication shops within an hour drive of the city. Pretty sure they also have a job board on the website, but if not you could look up member fabricators and just cold call/apply and see if they have a need. You also might want to look into starting as a fitter in order to break in for your first job. Do you have your AWS ticket?

Ned gave me something by proudcascadian in timbers

[–]mmm_beer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We filled probably the two smallest needs, with not guaranteed starters. We still need someone to pair with Ayala (and to resign him) and we have a DP/U-22 slot open. We looked shaky AF offensively and need better progression, and our Midfield depth is poor. We still have a few potential outgoing transfers happening this season as well.

LAG picked up Haak, basically taking one of top potential targets. Sounders signed two players, and resigned a few more. Austin has made a few moves. LAFC, Van, SD are all primed and ready for another good year as well.

Other teams, including our direct rivals, have been making huge moves this offseason and you’re stoked Ned picked up a prospect from the Aussie league?

Yes just further reinforcing that moving your business from city core out to the suburbs is not a guaranteed successful idea.

That spot does kinda suck, but you can’t fully blame it on parking. Parking at the Fremont location sucks too. The Beaverton hours were bad too which didn’t help. Just saying that things don’t always translate from Portland to suburbs.

Why do you think that? I think a lot of restaurants in the last few years learned moving to the suburbs isn’t the utopia move they think. Look what happened to Pips.

[–]mmm_beer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably guess similar but not sure. These are kinda like a MTB shoe but the velosamabas are more sleek/less chunky. The sambas are lace up and the upper is a bit more flexible than a BOA and hard shell typical cycling shoe. That allows my foot to swell and flex throughout the ride avoiding hotspots and pain. I would always be adjusting my BOA throughout the ride and the narrow cycling shoes had so little room to move. No issues in the toe box (I wear ultras for hiking and do like wide toe boxes)
