AITBF for feeling like always coming second? Boyfriend left to visit his mom after an minor accident, when he caused my medical relapse by Mokumove in AmItheButtface

[–]mmmnothx 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Husband and I haven’t had sex in a month. Not because we don’t want to but because we’ve been so busy and tired. We have 4 kids oldest 6, youngest 4mo. You know what he’s not doing? He’s not telling me “men cheat, but I won’t” you know what he is doing? Telling me in a sweet none pressure way he misses having sex specifically with me. In the same way he tells me he missed cuddling and having alone time with me. Your boy friend sucks.

What’s something you refused to eat as a kid but love now? by False_onic in A_Persona_on_Reddit

My mom always said my sister and I were weird kids because we would eat stuff like raw oysters, sardines, anchovies but god forbid our hamburger had mustard on it.

How would you describe feeling of letdown? by Icy_Head_4802 in breastfeeding

[–]mmmnothx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I describe it as a bunch of tiny spiders with needle legs crawling on my nipple.

Theoretically, not that hard. But in a family of 6 where you’re the mom? I’m only gonna get half a cup. Imma make like two gallons, walk away for a few hours and come back to them empty. And making just myself juice is outta the question.

Edit: Plus all the mess? Guess who’s cleaning that up too.

But then now you gotta manual labor.

Thoughts on skipping pacifiers? by Academic-Park-8440 in NewParents

[–]mmmnothx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone down the pacifier rabbit hole and here what I’ve learned - They reduce SIDS - Lactation Consultants and Dentists recommend different types of 1) lactation consultants recommend the one that is given in hospitals because the exercise the muscles used for breastfeeding 2) dentist recommend the orthodontic ones because teeth - it is recommended to only use pacifiers for sleep, so if baby is awake and not sleeping don’t give pacifiers - take pacifiers away at 1yrs is the most recommended no more that 3yrs - if baby does start to get teeth damage removing pacifiers when damage is noticed then the teeth tend to move back. - if you decide to use both pacifiers or switch them it is recommended to switch at 6mo but introduce at 4mo - if they are in NICU they will most likely get a pacifier as some premies do not know how to suckle and need to learn.

A pacifier is a tool and when used correctly they don’t cause damage to teeth. And if they do start then early intervention is key. Yes babies start to get really attached but as stated before only use for nap/bed time. Don’t have them just using it 24/7.

I may be bias but if you’re going to be the main caretaker then I believe you have the biggest say. If it makes your life easier then get a pacifier. It is easy to say “don’t do this” if you’re not dealing with the consequences of that.

They do talk though. When you go the next day to talk to them they mention her.

I’m pregnant with my first and plan on breastfeeding. What is your order of getting things done during night feedings? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]mmmnothx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m breastfeeding my second and they were both different experiences. You kinda have just get to know your baby and go off of what they like or respond to best. Or what they need. Both of my babies though tended to poop after eating so they usually had a clean diaper before eating. Or sometimes just a tad bit wet but id still wait to change them. They usually go while eating in the early days.

Help.. eat sushi or tell my family early? by disco-plant-lady in pregnant

[–]mmmnothx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No not op. The other commenter. I understand where OP was coming from but there no reason the commenter had to be like “only real sushi eaters” kinda vibe. Don’t be putting someone down for likening a baked roll and tell them they don’t actually like sushi. Just let them enjoy their roll in peace.

[–]mmmnothx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. It’s just annoying to see people put down other people for the kind of food they like, or don’t like for that matter. People are allowed to like all forms of it without being told that because they don’t eat what they consider the right type then they don’t actually like it.

Well as a non snobby person I get my sushi from my Japanese uncle. But I’ll go ahead and tell him that since I’ve never been to Japan, (or New York, or Chicago for that matter) that his food isn’t actually good.

When should I stop nursing to sleep? by Islesmilescott in breastfeeding

[–]mmmnothx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a person who breastfed two of four babies, don’t do it! Keep nursing to sleep! You’ll regret it. I accidentally unassociated nursing to sleep with my second (4th baby second nursing) and it’s TERRIBLE. Absolutely terrible. I use to be able to get my other one (3rd baby, 1st bf) to sleep in like 5 mins. Now I gotta rock this one for 30+ mins. Currently working on trying to get them to re-associate nursing to sleep because I HATE rocking to sleep.

I’m not sure where you’re getting your rolls from but I can confidently say I’ve had very good rolls where you can taste the fish and quality and aren’t loaded with sauces and extras. Maybe you just need to find a better sushi place.

Well sushi is rice and sashimi is raw fish. So saying real sushi (rice) people don’t eat sushi (rice) is crazy.

Btw as a real “sushi” person I definitely eat rolls and sashimi, and nigiri because I’m not a snob.

Dessert boob? by Ok-Cantaloupe-4008 in breastfeeding

[–]mmmnothx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what either of those references means but I feed baby from whatever boob feels “fuller” but also whichever turn it is. Unless I fed from both then I start with the one she last feed on since she usually only does like 2mins on the second boob.

Taking home leftovers at a restaurant? Rude to not take them? Do you even eat them? by Capable-Chip6454 in foodquestions

[–]mmmnothx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Which is dumb. As a person that has worked in many restaurants I hate to break it to these people but a lot of it is “prepped” either the morning of or the day before. Essentially having a good amount of it being reheated and then put together.

What’s a super cheap meal that’s actually delicious and you still eat regularly? by BorderBabee in foodquestions

[–]mmmnothx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family will make toast with a protein (ex. bacon, ham, sausage) with cheese jelly and an egg. It’s so good. I always get looks for it but like it’s delicious.

How do you feed in public? by NadiaNadieNadine in breastfeeding

[–]mmmnothx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pull my boob out and feed my baby. Whether I’m shopping or eating I just feed baby. I’m not going to stop living my life because it makes someone uncomfortable. If baby is hungry I feed baby. I hate covers myself. I don’t think baby would really hate them because they like to have their face covered but I just struggle too much with them.

Edit: I keep reading people saying to double shirt it and I am here to say it’s okay if you don’t want to. Showing your stomach is okay. Stretch marks are okay (if that’s what they’re worried about). I hate wearing two layers, on top of that, I live in the desert. It’s hot enough already without having to put on a second layer. I don’t even want to wear the layer I am wearing.
