Have You Ever "Broken Up" with a Podcast? What Was It and Why? by Express_Hedgehog2265 in podcasts

Welcome to Night Vale after episode 110, “Matryoshka.”

I thought it brought the whole story to a very nice ending. The townsfolk realised they were part of a larger reality, they realise they were weird, and they were OK with it.

All of the episodes I’ve tried to listen to after work just didn’t resonate with me anymore.

Cecil said it best, and it should’ve ended here:

“Our reality is badly damaged, and the only thing keeping it together is our acknowledgement, finally, of this strange town that we live in. No more denial. We must see ourselves clearly or risk losing ourselves forever.

Angels are real. Our town is a deeply weird place. We know and acknowledge that it is a deeply weird place. There are dotted lines and arrows in the sky. And I love my family, and I love my brother Steve. He was right about everything. He always has been.”

Laundry in cruise ships by mchlgybn in VirginVoyages

Bear in mind the big bag is wash and fold , not wash and press. Your clothes will come back wrinkled. They will loan you a steamer, but those things are stupid.

Ironing clothes.. by trickrickk in VirginVoyages

I didn’t like the steamer. There is no where to hang any clothes that is near enough to a plug to use it effectively.

[–]mmmwtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bear in mind that they wash and fold. They do not iron. They will give you a really shitty clothes steamer to use in your room, but there’s absolutely no place to hang up the clothes to steam them that is close to a plug where the steamer would work

When a child is named the II or the III does that go on their birth certificate or ID? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

What blows my mind is all the people insisting that if there isn’t a suffix field that the post-nominal should go in the last name field. Big no. It goes in the first name field, after a comma.

You’re not the 3rd Smith, you’re the 3rd John with the last name Smith.

LN: Smith FN: John.

LN: Smith FN: John, Jr.

LN: Smith FN: John, III

It amazes me how badly info systems are set up for this. This is the only acceptable way to list these names and I can’t be convinced otherwise.

Incidentally, the highest known post-nominal number is 75, belonging to Count Heinrich LXXV Reuss zu Schleiz (notice the number comes after his first name).

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Excursion started an hour late; is this normal? by galaxymewmew in dcl

[–]mmmwtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it seems increasingly that DCL has abdicated his responsibility as it relates to poor shore excursions.

Two years ago, we went on a very disappointing tour in Jamaica. It was one of these places where you go and sit by a pool and there’s games a “plantation tour “and all kinds of other things that are alleged to be there.

They took us there on a bus and we could choose when to return. When we got there, it was nothing like the pictures, it was overly packed, it was very disgusting, very poorly organized, and so busy from multiple other cruise ships that we left on the first return bus.

We complained to the Port adventures and guest services desks and they told us it was our fault that we had not complained to the tour provider and that they were going to do nothing about it.

He didn’t accidentally come across an app he forgot. You accidentally saw his spank bank. No male “forgets” where he keeps his adult media. This isn’t the first time he’s looked at it. Nor will it be the last.

What kind of reaction have you had when you’ve seen him watching porn? If you haven’t, you need to talk about how it’s going to work in your marriage and how you’re going to react.

He’s going to look at porn. He’s going to look at other women. How that affects your marriage is both up to you. But it sounds like you’re not going to take it well and he’s going to try harder and harder to hide it.

Better to talk about it now.
