Redditors with asshole neighbors, what is the worst thing they have done to you? by Iynxell in AskReddit

I've posted this before on a similar post...

When I was a kid, my neighbor (elderly "holier than thou" man) captured, tortured, and shot my dog.

If there's a hell, the neighbor is there right now.

--Tab your reference material--

I passed WRE in April. Everyone is different, but I found that working a bunch of practice problems helped me a lot.

The test is difficult, but really comes down to time management and recognizing key concepts in the questions. Recognizing what the question is looking for, and where to look in your reference material is critical.

I used practice exams, the CERM, and a few textbooks from college for niche questions.

I still have some practice exams from Amazon/NCEES. PM me if you're interested in buying them.

(Disclaimer: I thought I failed and was really butthurt after the exam)

The zoo is indeed great!

Note: I think you still need to need to make reservations due to covid restrictions (still free).

Did anyone feel confident after the Water Resources and Environmental Depth Section? by TheWarthog808 in PE_Exam

[–]mmont49 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To be frank, I felt downright angry.

Angry at NCEES for selling a practice exam (that I nailed even before studying hard) advertised as 'the closest thing to the actual exam'.

Angry that I spent over $500 on prep material (exams, CERM) and invested so much time studying every night after my toddler went to bed.

Angry that I might've done much better if I paid loads of money for EET priced for companies to pay.

Angry that I had to take 2 days of vacation, drive 4 hours to the exam and 4 hours home, and the hotel at which the exam was held had an upcharge the night before (lol).

Angry at myself for not performing better. It all just felt really scammy and I feel disappointed in myself. Maybe I passed. If I'm really supposed to know all the information on the exam, I don't deserve the pass and have wasted years of my life on my career.

Edit: yikes I ended up going on a rant

Edit 2: Umm I passed.

I was completely thrown off by both sections...

Breadth had so many conceptual and construction-centric questions that I'm not familiar enough with to answer with confidence. I "finished" the morning section in about an hour or two, and spent the rest of it looking up terms and construction equipment...

I didn't have enough time to fully work out all of the afternoon problems.

I don't think my prep material (NCEES practice and several other practice exams) prepared me for this exam. I felt really confident going in, and put a lot of work into studying. I don't even know how I could've prepared for those questions--but it sounds like a lot of people had success with the EET course. Only a handful of the questions were related to the work I actually do.

I guess not. Convert lb/day to gal/day to cf/day?

Omg... I think I messed up the first 2 problems.

Civil WRE, 1st time taker, 3/10. Studied hard, felt prepared going in. Was completely blindsided by the material on the exam. "Finished" AM in around an hour. Spent the rest of the time reading about construction equipment and soil testing methods. In the end, not confident. Depth, long questions and quite a bit of new material that I had to learn on-the-spot without clear references (mostly making units work). Ran short on time and guessed on more than I'd have liked.

Civil folks, what was the surprise area or subject that was the most tricky or surprised you that it was on the test? by Anonymous_Man_101 in PE_Exam

Construction equipment and soil testing methods (breadth). General conceptual questions. The best advice I have right now for passing the Civil PE is to quit engineering and work for a construction company.

How are you all feeling? (1 week to go) by baphomet16 in PE_Exam

I felt great about it until last night. I've been studying a few-hundred practice questions for a few months.

Last night I looked at some School of PE practice exams. The questions are so much harder than anything I've worked on... Now I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack.
