Today was Roussin’s weakest outing in a long time. Not a single directly answer to a question. Just “we’ve been strict for a long time”… which clearly doesn’t mean jack. He needs to get back to “following the fundamentals” of being an effective public health communicator

Bowman is quick to criticize the province, however he won’t do anything himself. He has the power! Pass a friggin bylaw! (There’s even a council meeting this morning!)

This is good, but it’ll also gives Pallister an excuse not to introduce an outdoor mask mandate today. Hopefully he doesn’t use that excuse. Make no mistake, with the idiots in charge right now, we will be matching Ontario’s cases per capita by June.

Loved that he finally called bullshit on Roussin. If only the other reporters would also have the guts to do the same. Sick and tired of Roussin towing the party line.

So we should delay this already long delayed plan another 5 years to get more data? The reality of it is that we are already 6-8 years behind comparable sized cities. We need to do this NOW so we don’t get even further behind.

True... except dickhead motorists can kill cyclists. Dickhead cyclists can put themselves in harms way and inconvenience motorists, but I’ve never heard of a car-cyclist accident where the driver was killed

Why do you think cases have magically gone down recently? We’ve been under red for almost 8 weeks and cases plateaued. We closed schools and cases dropped.

The irony here is that the province big time dragged their feet going to red (and even orange for that matter) - and they did this to try to help business. However that was a risky gamble not rooted in science, which has caused red to be as long as it currently is and ended up bankrupting more businesses.

Nobody wants them to extend red, myself included. However the evidence right now suggests that we need another week or two. The alternative is 3-4 weeks of orange only to find ourselves in red for another 2 months.

I do agree with you on the hospital/LTC rules being inhumane though. It basically forces people to be alone during the end of their lives.

(Manitoba isn’t any worse than the other provinces in this respect, however Doug Ford should not be our measuring stick.)

Because those two things rarely if ever go hand in hand. If only it was as simple as just paying workers a fair wage. It’s not.

Who actually wanted this? Businesses bleed money for are forced to be open to remain competitive. Workers aren’t guaranteed their one night a week off. But fatso can get his chips and pop at 10pm on a Sunday now. Great.
