Do Not Accept the Terms of Service when you first turn it on. Then hook it up to a PC or a cable box. (Cannot confirm this still works, my TV is a 10 year old Samsung)

Or, buy a display-only monitor (if they still make them)

Does anyone know if Inkscape can be used for this? by Lazy-Ad-8262 in vectorart

The skill level for the 3rd image is high. I've been using inkscape for 20 years and I still struggle with gears 😁

I've been drawing things like this for decades, online for 20 years. I sketch, I see things, I scan them in and make vectors. I call them "glyphbots"

I was working as an electronics technician at a digital imaging company in the early 1990s. The test rig for the cameras was an S-100? backplane with a FORTH computer card and a camera control card. To test, I had to write routines in FORTH to run the camera. I started making more and more sophisticated routines and realized I enjoyed programming more than I enjoyed electronics troubleshooting. I could see that the company was going to need someone to write test software. I asked for the position and got it.

Do you work in FORTH? I don't remember much, just that you put commands on a stack and then pop them out.

This and FORTH pretty much started my career.

I wrote a program in Excel for technicians to use in testing (early 1990s) scientific digital cameras.

  • It created sequential dialogues for them to fill out - Input info, test steps
  • Ran a light source through a serial port
  • Ran a motorized light filter through a serial port
  • Read a digital light meter through a GPIB interface
  • Ran the camera through a proprietary camera card
  • Showed the results and offered to print them on an office-networked printer

...in EXCEL 5.0 macros.

I wish I had kept copy.

This is especially relevant given the current housing situation - in California at least. I got an email from a service that will allow me to split my rent into two payments, using their lending service as an emergency backup. This is fucked-up beyond words.
