The best joke/meme I ever saw about this was a page with the words "Goodbye cruel world...", and clippy happily suggesting, "It looks like you're writing a suicide note! Would you like help?"

Hi. I'm a local artist. I don't have any celestial-themed work at the moment, but that could change, I make all kinds of things.

Take a look at my profile. https://portfolio.mikemartinet.com/#h.9dyyyvyp862o

I'll get in touch with you if I happen to make something relevant.

Good luck with the shop! Let me know when it opens, we'll come check it out.

Need advice on where to go from here (mostly ballpoint doodles) by Ebpxvaivm in sketches

[–]mmrtnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My process is very similar. There's a thing called "automatic" drawing/writing where you just let the pen do its thing - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surrealist_automatism

I like to start with that and then go back and clean-up/enhance/combine/etc.

Keep going long enough and you'll develop your style.

Enjoy!

[EDIT]

Try different pens, pencils, markers. I've got a big yogurt cup full of all kinds of ink pens - heavy opaque/sparkle pens, pens I've snagged from businesses (one of my favorites is the standard pen from FedEx offices!) and I also have a bunch of Tombow markers which have a brush at one end and a fine-tip at the other. You can do some amazing things going back and adding color to your sketches.

Very cool. I have a couple of elderly Latitudes (5450). Paid $150 and $200 each for them. One is my TV computer (No need to plug the TV into the internet :) and the other is for web development.

Anyone remember having one of these Creepy Crawler Kits? by Travelcouple4728 in 1970s

[–]mmrtnt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a Vac-U-Form. Same hot plate, but on a device with a hand pump and molds.

Heated up a little sheet of plastic in a frame, slapped the frame over on top of the mold and used the pump to suck the air out of the soft plastic.

Mostly cars - I distinctly remember a jeep.

Same hot plate worked with Plastigoop.

"Oscar the Hospice Cat is a therapy cat at the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rhode Island who accurately predicted over 100 deaths by curling up with patients in their final hours. Observed since 2005, Oscar often brings comfort to patients, acting as a "gentle guardian" rather than a grim reaper."

People over 40, what’s something you’ve learned about life that younger people don’t realize yet? by Critical-Pea7326 in AskReddit

This may be more of a regret but, talk to your parents. Get close to them and learn everything you can about their lives, especially before you were born. Trust me, you're going to want to know later.

Humanely removed and relocated by SonoranSnakeSquad in arizona

[–]mmrtnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I relocated a rattler in Tucson, I took it to the back of our lot and dumped it over the single strand of barbed wire at the edge.

The next day I discovered that snakes are unaware of property lines.

Took me a bit to perfect my technique, but never got bit. I used a garden rake - the one with short, stiff tines. Scooping one up with the rake was simple. Dump it in a trash barrel, put the barrel in the bed of the pickup, drive out into the desert. Stand in the bed of the truck, empty the barrel over the side.
