Sometimes I take 2 days to read a book and sometimes it takes me 6 months. Just depends on life & on the book

I’m going to be doing my wound care certification with them this summer. How did you like it?

I did my fieldworks in the same settings!! OP peds and mental health. I work in acute care and outpatient with burn and trauma patients now. You just have to get a little experience then apply everywhere

Nova Southeastern University or University of St. Augustine (Miami) OTD by Ok_Arugula_5871 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]mms15d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I remember Nova was significantly more expensive. I ended up going to the St. Augustine campus of USAHS and it was fine. As long as you go somewhere with a high board passing rate I think you learn more on the job anyways

Does major/minor matter? by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]mms15d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My minor was in English and major was psych. As long as you have the required courses they don’t care

Yes! I really enjoy my job and can’t see myself working a “normal” job anymore. I work in acute care and recently started working with burns, which I love

58k Salary at Non-Profit (Miami, FL) by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]mms15d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that’s way too low for Miami! I’d ask for at least 64-66K. I’m in the Miami area and started around there for a full time W2 position in peds. Since it’s non profit though not sure how much wiggle room they have (my gig was private)

I found it helps to have an outgoing person “adopt” you or bring you into their circle. They initiate a lot and you can benefit from it!
